Re: Boat Names

After working on restoring our 15' Galaxy trihull for 8 months, my wife named it Break Time.

We recently bought a 17.5' Fabuglas Cayman. About 15 minutes into our first outing we discovered the previous owner hadn't put the plug back in the engine block after he had drained it. After finding the plug and getting the water pumped out before we sank we were sitting in a cove relaxing when she asked if I regretted the purchase. My reply and now the name: No Regrets.

I named my Bayrunner "Just Bite Me" I thought it was funny until the Coast Guard asked me what the boats name was. I felt a little uneasy telling the Man "Just Bite Me" while he was looking for violations on my boat !!!!

My husband and I are huge Chicago Bears fans (both live in Toronto though). We just got a 36' Regal. Since all the highlights are red, we were trying to figure out how to add blue and orange, without major clashing.

We decided on:

Da Boat with the "C" in the top right hand corner that would look like a 'copyright'.

Re: Boat Names

My name is Tim. My first boat in the 90's was a 19' cuddy cabin named Trapped in Time, then changed it to Short Circuit. When I learned you were liable if anyone slipped while crossing a row of rafted boats I changed it to Slippery When Wet. That way they were warned.
In 1999 I sank a 31-1/2' wood Chris Craft named Half-fast (say it quickly)
My current boat is a 1962 31-1/2' Inland Seas Steel Clipper that weighs 17,500 pounds its name....Timtanic

Re: Boat Names

Had a major project boat that I spent many $ and hours on.
My age and health did not make it easier. Wife was constantly on my case.
I named it " Miss'r - Nagg'n "
But, I never floated it.
my abandoned project

Saw one a while back, a 40 foot Carver named 'Rear Admiral'.

Turns out the owner is a proctologist.

Re: Boat Names

We got our boat after my wife got a little windfall from a pay equity award from when she worked at our local casino. She is not the keenest boater but she knew how much I and the children loved it so as soon as the money was in her hands she started checking the boat for sale ads. I had told her to get something nice for herself with the money....but she chose a family boat as what was needed. All she requested when we got it was an "Oh SH*T handle she could grab on to when things got a little bumpy !!!
Anyway because of the suprise of the windfall and getting a boat with it we have called our boat
"Out Of The Blue"
For those of you that remember the Electric Light Orchestra they were and still are my favorite music group and that is the name of one of their finest albums.
