I have a Lund 1700 & Zieman single axle trailer. This is a simple setup, two bunk runners under the boat and a near-vertical positioning strut on each side near the back of the trailer.
Here's my question: should the bow of the boat be pulled tight to the front v-roller - or, should there be space between the bow and the v-roller when towing?
I've heard some say that, when trailering, there should be a couple of inches between the boat and the roller. But, I've moved the boat forward and have tried to position the boat tight to the roller. By having the bow tight to the roller, it seems to minimize flexing in the trailer and bouncing in the boat.
What's the correct position for the boat?
Thanks
