I am wondering if one can buy both lake and ocean going boats with no engine just the boat frame / hull.
How much does the hull usually cost to the engine.
Like is there a certain percentage so one knows he is getting a good deal for the boat.
For example $1 sq foot is a reasonable price for renting an apartment to calculate a price for monthly rent near me "quick estimate".
Is there some kind of percentage or some type of calculation to know if the price is a reasonable price to buy a boat.
1) is there a percentage ratio of engine to total boat cost.
2) is there a x number of dollars a square ft for a particular material boat.
3) depending on the weight of your boat is there a way to quickly determine the range of horsepower engine one would want to uses to get a target speed range ... etc
4) is there a quick way to get an upper bound on the heaviest engine you would be allowed to put in there. Or is it just the weight capacity + number of people weight/ items + engine weight < weight it supports before sinking ...
I know they say ocean boat maintenance is like 10% of the boat total costs pure year (i.e currently that seems to be a reasonable price for the cost per year or what most people say is its cost them)
That kind of sucks a little bit since every 10 years your buying another boat.
