Re: Bush commutes jail time

There has to be a payoff for President Bush to do this, and that payoff no doubt is the guarantee that Scooter keeps his mouth shut about Shooter. More than likely the Pardon will come as a Christmas present on December 25 2008.

Here is a little something that was stated by his Father George HW Bush on April 26 1999,stating Spy Leakers are the most insidious of traitors. I know, there is a Knee jerking right now, saying Tree, scooter didn?t leak, he got convicted for lying. So, he covered up for the leaker, same thing.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kvu3Ecnvd74

Everybody knows that President Bush commuted to keep Libby's mouth well and truly SHUT.

Libby has a good-looking wife and young kids. He don?t want to go to jail and leave all of that sitting on the side for a couple of years Sooooo?. he was probably ready to open his mouth and sing loud and long, to either shorten his sentence, or avoid it entirely.

While he is on probation someone will probably come up with some BS job for him to do, hell he might even go to work for Halliburton. If it was me I think i would get a ghost writer, and start my book, maybe even go into talk radio, it worked for another convicted felon named Libby.

So what are the Dems going to do? Nothing they can do about it now, just *****, and take the lemon that President gave them, and squeeze it for a year and a half, and make some lemonade. Look at these numbers.

CNN just talked about a poll they had previously done asking if Libby should be pardoned and the result of that poll was:

72% NO

19% YES

Yep...22 GOP Senate seats are UP FOR GRABS in 2008,just ask yourself how many of these 22 Senators are going to be standing in the same photo opp with President Bush ???:D

Good god Tree, back on the grassy knowl are you? Keep your camera running. How about alittle common sense? Unless someone wants to use Haliburton again. What exactly does Bush have to lose? Have you checked his numbers? Do you think they could go down after this? I would think that his numbers might jump as rabid right wingers start getting excited! There is no downside to this for the President.

Knee Jerk? Not hardly, just keep a sharp eye peeled for bigfoot and the loch ness monster. BTW we KNOW who the leaker was, it was Clinton holdover Richard Armatage. If you can actually swallow the joke that someone was outed.

Everybody at moveon.org perhaps. If you knew anything you would have already posted what he is supposedly hiding. But you don't. And neither does anyone else. Guilt by inuendo. Pityful.

Well what do you know, Halliburton. :)

What do they ever do? Maybe they can make up a new tax (oops I mean fee) to settle their anger. Perhaps inviting Sandy Burgler over for dinner might help? I don't remember your outrage over that? Tree, that whole post is far under your usual standards.

Re: Bush commutes jail time

Seems like he'll get his chance to appeal out of jail. What's so wrong with that? Sandy Burglar has yet to pay for his crime.

And who was Marc Rich?

..."But New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who, as a federal prosecutor filed the original case against Rich in the early 1980s, said Rich's case was not comparable, since Rich had also been indicted for mail fraud and was trading for oil with Iran when an embargo was in effect and the country was holding U.S. citizens hostage."

Seems to me that is a whole lot worse than what Scooter did.

So much for the party of law and order!

I guess now we know what the President meant when he said "If any in his administration was involved in the leaking of the CIA agents name, they would be dealt with." As long as they don't implicate the VP and the President, they get a "get out of jail free" card.

Being convicted of perjury and obstruction of justice are serious felonies. Our whole legal system relies on witnesses telling the truth under oath.
So much for the legal system--I guess the legal system only works when it provides the proper outcome for your friends.

A jury of 12 people found he was guilty--a Republican appointed judge concurred with the verdict, and an appeals court (also comprised of Republican appointed judges) also concurred, suggesting the sentence was reasonable and the appeal lacked any real chance of being successful...

What else could Bush due to a dutiful and loyal subject who kept him and the VP out of jeopardy?

The whole thing is a disgrace!

Hmmm? Selective memory? Marc Rich, et al! Does this compare? A guy who uses the same defence as your beloved Queen? With him it was probably true, with her it was just convenient.

Re: Bush commutes jail time

Your absolutely right pointer, Bush has nothing to lose, that’s why I put the last part of my post there the part that you left out, I guess we can agree on that point, as for the grassy knoll I’m in good company, seeing as your standing there beside me, looking for an indictment against Sandy Burglar.

Here is my post I condensed it a bit

[[CNN just talked about a poll they had previously done asking if Libby should be pardoned and the result of that poll was:
72% NO
19% YES

Yep...22 GOP Senate seats are UP FOR GRABS in 2008,just ask yourself how many of these 22 Senators are going to be standing in the same photo opp with President Bush??? When I put that there I thought it would be obvious that I thought the Democrats would beating on this like a drum for the next year and a half, guess I should have made it a bit clearer. It should be obvious to anyone that Bush doesn’t give a damn about any of the Republicans running, he’s just trying to save his own Axx.

Didn’t see any big foot, or loch ness monsters lately, but did see where Libby was indicted and convicted on one count of obstruction of justice, one count making a false statement, and two of perjury. I didn’t say anything about Libby being convicted for the leak, why did he perjure himself, and become the first sitting White House official to be indicated in 130 years? Why did he make the false statements, obstruct justice, if he didn’t have anything to hide? So why throw Armatage in there? I didn’t accuse Libby of leaking anything, here is my quote (So, he covered up for the leaker, same thing.) I guess it,s a deflection tactic, same reason Sandy got into this thread

Seems that you are concerned about taxes Pointer, where is the concern about the National Debt, thatthis administration has saddled us and our grandchildren with? As I type this reply, this thread is almost one day old now, the debt has increased $1.32 billion, seems that anybody so concerned about taxes, would be concerned about leaving there descendants straddled with this debt.

Another thing your right about Pointer, Libby most likely will not be working for Halliburton, my mistake, I forgot he used to be a consultant for the defense contractor Northrop Grumman,. Libby being a convicted felon should fit right in there again. In June of 2003, they had to pay $112.2 mill to settle a suit for overcharging the government. Plus they bribed a Saudi Prince, and botched up the training of the Iraqi national army to the tune of $48 mill, yes I think scooter will fit right in again.

Save your breath!......;)
They would rather point fingers at years past than deal with the thieves they themselves elected who are robbing our eyeballs (& future generations) out right now.....
Rather than admit how corrupt their choice was, they will blindy cling to it, regardless of the facts.......

Re: Bush commutes jail time

Tree,

I used your post as a springboard to all the conspiracy minded, left wing, believers who think this is about a leak of a CIA socialite. And lo and behold:

Quote PW2:
I guess now we know what the President meant when he said "If any in his administration was involved in the leaking of the CIA agents name, they would be dealt with." As long as they don't implicate the VP and the President, they get a "get out of jail free" card.

I guess you will need to have some one on one time with PW2 to get the facts straight.

As for your comment:
When I put that there I thought it would be obvious that I thought the Democrats would beating on this like a drum for the next year and a half, guess I should have made it a bit clearer.

Which is why I put in the part about Sandy Burgler. Kind of tough to sleep at night knowing the ol' double standard will be throw up isn't it? Maybe not? You posted some wild accusations driven by inuendo, (Halliburton, Northrup Grumman) which made that comment timely, and apparently neccessary. Hey why not throw in oil company's or microsoft, its Hillary's (democrats) money anyways, right?

My first post was about as to the point as I could get. If he lied, he should go to jail. 2.5yrs???? I am not too sure? But if that is the case he should be sharing a cell with the Schlickster. And ol' Hillary should be brought before a court for doing exactly the same thing. (I forgot the billing records were under our maritial bed in the White House) You have to be a kool-aid drinker to believe that one. But I am sure you are not working with two sets of standards here are you?

As for your post about the national debt? Not sure how that figures in, but how many bills have been loaded with provisions to lower the debt in the past 6 months? I am so glad the left has such a wonderful record of fiscal responsibility to run on. As good socialist/communists the democrats have never seen a tax (means of control) they didn't like. Some people love having other people run their lives for them, they are the democrats base. Another reason I am happy to see McCain dropping in the polls. The party of responsibility hasn't exactly bourne that out either.

Re: Bush commutes jail time

Really don?t know what Sandy Burglar has to do with this thread, but will try addressing it anyway. Been sleeping like a baby knowing that scoff law ?Sandy Berger? has paid his dues, and not had his sentence commuted, Berger was fined $50,000 for taking documents as part of a plea with federal prosecutors, plus he lost his license to practice law as a result of the investigation.

Hhmm ?you say that I posted some wild accusations driven by innuendo, you follow that in the next paragraph with an innuendo of your own on Hillary, and the billing records being under the bed, following that up with the typical wing nut accusations of being an imbiber of ?drum roll? Please KOOL_AID, I guess you posted this before you took your meds.

Shouldn?t be to hard to figure out why my post on the national dept got in there, seeing as you alluded something about the Dems raising taxes, this latest post is one of the most bizarre of them all.

You ask about the bills the Democrats have put forth in 6 months, good grief man, the Dems will need more than 6 months to get over the carnage that this band of fools have caused in the last six years, takes a bit of time. You follow that up by suggesting It must be socialist/communist inspired to be fiscally responsible, to pay as you go, really bizarre.

We still are  There is this funny law with regard to Presidential pardons etc. I guess that one doesn't count . . . ;)

I want offenders to do time as well. This one, like all Witch hunts, made me cringe, regardless of which direction they are pursued from. There was no crime to begin with, just media BS and over zealous prosecution. It was a waste of time and money . . . Sound familiar?
