I knew someone was going to snap up that stuff on CL, if I needed it, I would have.

Just to make y'all drool, the box anchor was $60, slide anchor $25, big fenders $5 ea, 5 NICE ski jackets for $50 (adds like that don't come up often as it wasn't a bunch of carp)

Soooo, you breakin' in those new props this weekend 12V. You know you want to :D

Wow, I wouldn't have expected big horns to get that close to the road. It was pretty well camouflaged in the background. You must have really good eyes to see that while driving by!

What mzahn said

They do have computers you can log on to at the office, but I don't know what the situation with those are as far as cost, etc. They don't have wireless.

I do know that Verizon is going to put in a new tower in Pickle City, so service won't be so spotty, and 4g will be readily available.

I wish I had a dash cam! Did anyone in the Vegas area see this? Daylight Meteor

I came home to So CA through Searchlight, and saw this thing zipping toward what I thought was Vegas. From my vantage point, about 10 miles west of Searchlight on the 164 (Nipton Rd) it looked like it was going straight towards downtown. I almost pulled over because I couldn't tell if it was a meteor, rocket, or whatever, so I thought I would surely see an impact cloud but it never appeared because it apparently blew up in the atmosphere somewhere far to the north west. Now that's something you don't see everyday.

Where you from 12v? I forgot. Curious about your drive time to TB. Which route?

Edit: Weird, I was posting at the same time. Sounds like you go over the bypass to Boulder through Searchlight. What about 40 through Kingman? I am guessing you've tried them all.

I'm right across the valley from you in Rancho. We already have our power poles running through the city :D

Man, I HAVE tried them all. The crowd on the way to Vegas is nuts most of the time. It's so different on the 40. Unfortunately going that way through Kingman ads about 1 to 1-1/2 hours. I like the Nipton- Searchlight route up the 95 into Boulder. The speed limit was recently increased to 70 and the highway is beautiful and smooth with very little traffic - and it only ads right at 10 miles as opposed to the Henderson turn-off.
Coming back that way, you can detour the 15 by taking Ivanpah Rd. south off Nipton Rd. (just before you go up the last hill to get on the 15) and go through Cima & Kelso Depot and end up on the 40 at Kelbaker which really only ads about 35 miles.
The Nipton route is about 285 miles from here to T-Bar. With the bridge, I usually do it in 4.25 hrs stopping in Boulder for gas.

Re: calling all lake mead boaters! nevada

Yeah, I've gone the Nipton, Searchlight route to the Hacienda a few times. Even been from Havasu to the Hacienda because my boat is there. I am blown away that it's only 285 miles. I thought the Hacienda was 250, maybe 240, but still. I am sure the bypass has helped a lot. But cool you can do 4 1/4 hours. That makes it livable. Havasu is right at 4 without the trailer (260 miles) for me.

Edit: I am probably 20+ miles from you though. That makes more sense to me now.

Just got through watching some you tube about this,a police scanner was saying they heard 2 loud booms and rumbling noises afterward.Something about smoke in kingsbury.Sent fire to investigate. No mention of fire though. We will never know, the goverment will cover it up as always. It must have been big if you were waiting for my boat to fly up in the sky afterwards.

I checked my odometer this morning and I was wrong..it's 285 the Henderson route, because it was 295 this time through Nipton.

It was a fluke that I even set the odometer before I left T Bar. I was planning on getting the mileage difference by staying on the 215 going up by the airport to the 15 then south to bypass the stop lights on St. Rose. I changed my mind when I recalled all that traffic I had on the way up Friday. I set a new record! 7.75 hrs! No accidents, just everyone decided to go to Vegas that day. I even left early, so I thought @ 2:15. Nothing like sitting stopped on the 15 for no reason other than traffic.
I did stop at Casa Flores in Boulder though for a nice, well deserved chile relleno dinner and a Margi after all that :D
