I'm thinking we try Maax's spot. The whole point was to try to get as many boats in as possible (well one of the points, lol). Maaxk, where exactly is that spot? Is that still in Jamaica bay? Looks kinda like Rockaway. Are you guys thinking Sunday or Monday? Weather is unsettled today so tomorrow is out (fishless). Sunday probly earliest and Monday probly better still.

Look at the map and directions and it isn't really much further than North channel so I think that is a good in point. The only other concern is whether or not parking there is legal/ allowed?

Looking at Mondays forecast looks like wind is at a slow 5mph for Monday and high within the mod 60's. you guys wanna do early morning 9ish through the hole day? I don't know how many days of fishing I have left this year but if its the last would love a whole day

Im good for the whole day til say 3ish. Need to be mindful of daylight and temp drops. Finishing at 3 gives stuff time to dry for packing. Starting at and 9 sounds good to start and gives 6 hrs of fishing time. Anyone hear from Smashed? Started working on my command center and gps/fishfinder. It may be done by then. Unfortunately the gps part seems screwed I did get a chance to put a drop of glue on tge floor so i think im good there

9 is good for me ..Alex didn't you and Smashed went last time any info on him? 4 boats is better then 3 Sinistre what fish finder you have? its not internal GPS within fishfinder ?

Yes it's an internal gps with fishfinder, way points, tracking etc. Never got to use it much. I built it into my command center (tool box with a marine amp, speakers, fishfinder unit and power for my outboard (electric start). I'm rebuilding it as we speak (the old one (command center) rusted and battery quit after 6 years. I didn't use the fishfinder gps much because the way I had it set up I had a lot of interference at speed, so it really only worked well trolling and drifting. Actually the gps did work well now that I think about it. It just had a learning curve, lol. I "THINK" I have some of that worked out but I cut the wires to the satellite puck and it doesn't appear to be working (I also dropped it a few times, lol. Butter fingers. It needs to be outdoors to test it but I think it is toast. It is a Humminbird 580C (Combo gps/ sonar). Fingers crossed i can get it back to life.

Happy New Year!

Just stopping by and I see our NY thread, a little rusty, but the season is coming. I bet the Jamaica bay is frozen these days, it is that cold around here.

Watched the videos, great job Sin! I heard my name and am sorry to respond just now, but am stuck at school until May, dammit, too many things to sort until then.

Anyway, the boat and motor are in the basement waiting to be used again. So don't hesitate to give me a buzz anytime in the beginning of the season.

Just happened to be checking the thread for signs of life and voila!!! Life... OH... You KNOW I will be rounding up all my inflatable boating buddies first chance I get. I am doing some work.. albeit very slowly.. this off season. I fixed a leak (an extra hole I drilled for launch wheels), I ordered an AL floor which should arrive in February, i'm transferring all of the parts for the fishfinder console. I added another rodholder (DIY ,like the one Weimed has) to hold my net, so now I can have 2 rods and the net without stuff bouncing all around. I will be asking Weimed to help me change out my impeller sometime in late February/ Early March and around then I will try out the new Bimini )in the living room, lol. I also bought a go pro style camera to mount on the boat so video should be easier.. if not better (no worries about losing my phone!) BTW, my brother in law is now the owner of my Mercury 340 so we have yet another boater.... AND, and someone else contacted me earlier this month to see if he can join in... of course I said yes!, the more the merrier. We potentially have 6 or 7 boats available to go out at any one time!!! That IS truly a fleet! I can't wait. I'm hoping we get the early season fishing we have had in past years, tho this winter weather may push that back. I'm also hoping with so many of us now and at least 2 guys in NJ (my brother in law).... we can take the show on the road sometimes and expand our horizons to go where the fish are! Looking forward to seeing everyone this season!!!

no prob. What ever you need Al, I plan on raising my transom in Feb to get some more boost from 6hp. My finances took a big dip this year and hopefully I will be able to afford the electric bravo pump. Al, Boyan I still have your pump (your pump saved my arse. Our last trip in cold water expanded my boat and your pump helped me get it back in shape). Can't wait to see Al's Bimini. I still have to figure out how to keep water out my boat. We noticed when I sit on the tube I manage to get water in the boat. Gotta figure out how to stop thisk
