Re: Can not figure the Age of the boat Restoration Project!!

Hey fellow Boats. I need some Help. I have decided to sell my restoration in order to buy another boat that fits the family. The boat has been fully restored and has all the original parts. I am going to post it on Ebay and Craigslist soon. What should I put as the asking price.

I wouldn't waste the money on ebay unless CL doesn't work. As cool as your boat is, it isn't terribly practical (and as you've found out) and that will hurt the price. If you're not in a hurry list it for $1750 and take $1500. In a hurry list for $1500 take anything over a grand.

You can insert your nice photobucket pictures into your CL add same as you do here. Much better than the crap CL pics. However still upload 1 to CL so your add still has the "pics" icon. What you most want to emphasize is that your boat is turn-key. A video of it on the water would help immensely I think.

Before I sell this boat I need some wiring advice. I have a set of Vintage Dual Trumpet horns that were original to this era. I got them to work just fine the other day. but when i tried them out of the lake they burned the ground wire completely in half. I need some help with wiring. Can any one help me with a diagram showing how to wire these things. Right now I have a positive line running from the battery to the push button and then a wire running to the horns. Then I have a ground wire running from the horns to the battery. Is there a better way to do this and safer.

I need some advice for this boat. I have an opportunity to buy a really awesome 1964 Evinrude 75hp motor that would look great on this boat. My only concern is weight. The motor I have on it now is a 40hp and it weighs 160lbs. and the motor I want is 239lbs. Would this be to much to put on my boat. the boat rating plate says 40lbs... Any Thoughts?????????

We used to have a Starflight 75 on our 16' SC - and that motor would be too big for your little gem.

It seems like you and your wife enjoy restovating boats....you guys always seem to be having alot of fun in the pics .....you might be a good candidate to come over the the cult....the Starcraft cult! Cheap, big, basically indestructible! Check out the SC board!

I wanted to get some advice. I was thinking about moving my gas tanks further up in the boat. In my boat you will notice that there is 2 areas that you sit on that seems to be a hollow box. I am sure there is foam in there for floatation. I wanted to move some weight to the front in order to pull the fron down alittle. Could I mount a permanent tank in the front seat and have a gas cap on the side to fill up. so you wouldnt even see the tanks? That way it will moev some of the weight forwward. What do you think.

No I dont have room for that. plus my floor is a V no flat floor. I tore in the seating container or the sections under the seat that is full of foam and it could def. go in there. I am running two 6 gallon portable tanks now in the back. with the new rig i could do a 15 gallon one tank. Does anyone have a good picture of a aluminium seating that has been turned into a storage compartment with a hatch.
