Glass Guy brought me this fan; and although I promised myself to never "junk up" my boat with nonessential items - like a sound system and lights that rival a concert (to each their own). I don't mind sweating, but I need air moving across my skin to cool because of the meds I'm on.

Just not certain where or how to mount it? And needs to be easily removed, ideas?
Yet, I still have lots to do first....... lol

How about one of those older depth locator type setup? They could be moved in most any direction and even 360 degree rotation as well, but also allow you to easily remove it as well. And the actual footprint for one of them is pretty small. :noidea:

sorry that picture sucked at giving much as to a location; and it's all stuffed inside dodging storms again! lol
Just always thinking ahead... and now thinking that little fan may be nothing more than cute? Kicks good air, but.... it probably won't survive much abuse

Am thinking an auto/truck blower motor w/squirrel cage. That would sit on the deck or livewell lids - could be stored aft during transit etc

Boat is FILTHY! going to take a week to clean it all up
JS, the Herculiner texture doesn't show very good in that pic, but that's Herculiner on both sides of bow (stepping pads)

I'd like that kind of volume/cfm, but really need something unobtrusive to fish off the bow. Am already considering a patio umbrella in the rod holder I rarely use - not interested in a bimini; for sure in the way!!

I remember one of our Members awhile back took a Picnic Tableshade like this...and modified it so it would tilt side to side. He would position the boat so the sun was at his back then tilt it to that side. He said it gave him ample room for casting etc... Only issue was if there was much of a breeze, it WOULD turn into SAIL BOAT!!!:D;)

that's an issue with any type of artificial shade imho. Don't know exactly what I want or need, or if I do need. I can be OK sanding/grinding/glassing or just working in direct sunlight as long as I have plenty of air moving - and water and freezer pops! lol But I usually fish harder than I work!!

If I don't hurry up and finish, it's gonna be cold again :grumpy:

Could always install a tube holder on the back of the seat and use an umbrella held in that holder tube. But then you have to get really clever with casting.

this took way too long!! and then, it took way too long again and again and a........................ And I'm fresh out of excuses, sooooo....... But this picture ain't so hot either considering it IS HOT!! Triple digit heat thingies every day. And with what rain Louisiana has gotten, I'm surprised we get as much as we do here.
HOPE y'all out that way find your way through that mess!! :pray2:
we get 70" a year or better, but never like y'all have it now. WOW!!

http://

We're getting closer to seeing "why" I was shooting at 21" of transom. It's the tie in to those upper deck supports I'm working on (still )
:lol: dang me, better take a rope and hang me lol. It should dress out real well.

went back and added a bit more underneath; at least today we get a daytime picture lol

got some air in port corner, will fix while dressing these out. I'll be impressed if I get the motor hung this month

When i have a little resin leftover, I smear it around sometimes just because? that it makes a dif one way or another? At least when I sand before paint, I don't take much of what's supposed to be there for strength

ain't that the truth!!! but daggone! lol
Apologies for the redundancy of pics, oh well, here's where I got to... Having trouble getting the bottom edge to blend like I want; suggestions? Might be hard to tell in pic; I did darken in Microsoft Pic Manager, but still.....hard to see? It's a very shallow angle - don't be fooled by the sides

http://

REALLY APPRECIATE all the help!!! Thanks

Still have the sides to paint, decking not shown is all done. Should be ready for the water soon depending upon how fast the paint cures; was told two days, but hmmmmmmmm

not wanting to picture y'all to death, threw the lid on hoping to get better color representation without the flash, but was too late lol. Anyway, pulled trailer out to finish sanding the one spot behind guide posts and to make it easier to paint. Not going to fuss with gunwale side pieces anymore errrrrrrrrrrrr! New 3500lb 3" drop axle on the way!!

where was I? lol Life got complicated but didn't completely stop things - just been too busy to take the time to post :(

new 3000lb 4" drop axle, had to cut frame for clearance and weld reinforcement to frame - with 1/4" angle wrapped over with 1/4" angle inversely mounted underneath 100% welded for tubular effect over the cutouts.
Added 1/4" flat bar shimmed a 1/4" for bunks to rest on. Bought 108" of 3" (or miniature) style railroad iron at the scrapyard for $18 to stiffen up LOL the tongue - 1/4" angle the rest of the way back to tie it all in. Which made good sense to raise the bunks a half inch, but it just worked out that way......
tows very nice... :)

AND!! that's two gallons of Rustoleum Cold Galvanized at the discount price of $120 ea, tax included lol
