I cut the CSM with scissors. If it is 1/4 inch strands. it don't take hardly any cabasol. Just the fibers makes it real thick.

I just sit and watch supernatural and cut some up.

Using eeeeeepoxy. I have all kinds of fillers. No CSM on hand

You want it thin enough that it will trowel using a 3/8" toothed trowel, but not to thin so it will stay in place. Apply to both the new wood core and the outer shell. Don't use to much clamping pressure. just enuf to make it ooze out around all four edges and use the ooze out to form your fillets.

Success!!!!! At least I think so ;) Went really good this afternoon getting the transom glued in... Took my time, made sure I had everything prepped and ready...

Got my clamps cut, drilled and put duct tape on the edge that rests against the transom. That way if there is any squeeze out I can't get to, it will still come off. Used duct tape when I made patterns using poly. It works good. So does that aluminum tape for duct work ;)







Used 206 slow hardener with my resin to give me some longer working time and 403 and 406 for my fillers.





18 Squirts of resin and hardener and about 4 scoops of each filler made a nice PB. Did this x2 in seperate cups. It worked out perfect. Had the wife coat the transom and I coated the inner in the boat. We worked really good together. And clamped it up :)











Very happy. Had squeeze out on all 4 sides. We cleaned it up together and mads whatever fillets we could. I love the 45 degree cuts. This worked out nice!!!

This all I had left when we cleaned everything up. I think that's pretty good for waste huh?



Will pull the clamps tomorrow and do a little sanding and hope to tab and fill the drain hole cutout and bottom of the transom. Going to try the bag idea and squeeze it all under there...

so how much did you end up using? Not sure what a squirt equals 🤨
if you think you like my 45s now wait till you start tabbing! It lays down super nice (at least mine did with poly)
anyway the biggest hardest scariest part is behind you now, congrats on a job well done!

Thanks Red. Sorry 18 squirts equaled 16 oz of resin so 32 ozs total was used. :) worked perfect the way we prepared it.

Thanks guys :). Was a pretty good today. Got the gab filled along the bottom of the transom to hull. Also the oversized drain hole was filled. Also got some tabbing of the transom done. Need to get that finished up as well as glassing the face of the transom this week. I understand that I need to clean the glass with water and a scotch brite pad? Then dry and sand with 80 grit? That right?

After that I plan to start to figure out back section of stringers and 1st 2 bulkheads.
