Re: carpet removal
Hey, a bench grinder to the floor, that would be nice to watch. j/k
My cabin had carpet from top to bottom, throughout the cabin (yes the head area too). When all hardware, and furniture was out, (as stated above), I grabed a hold of a corner and ripped away. What was behind the carpets was desinigrated foam flying everywhere (I'll use a respirator next time), and sprayed glue.
Removing the glue is not an easy task. I tried scrubing it off with soap and water with little results (not better than removing with my finger tips when dry). Next I tried paint thiner, This seemed to work except alot of elbow grease was needed. After hours of sweating in the Florida sun, I whipped out the pressure cleaner yesterday. Removed the about 80% of the glue, was much faster, cleaned 20+ build up of goo/mold/dirt, easier on the lungs, and cooled me off.
I'll post before and after pictures on my thread (restoring wellcraft....) by the end of next week.
Good luck!!!
