Sorry H... I'm already at work. I'll get some good pics tonight when I get home. There's definitely a glob of goo on there and the end of the hull looks like it was dragged across the cement... almost like it got dropped at the boat ramp or something.

Keith, I am hoping very much that is at least a major part of the problem, as that is a quick easy fix, that requires very little money and time as well. Because I am 90% sure that we have air that is going directly to the prop and if we can fix that then we can get the right prop. I can't wait to see the pictures.

The very bottom of the transom needs to be sharp !!!
rounded of or damge causes lots of weird things to be going on.
The lights will not be causing any problems, but the engine is definitely too low.
if you take a piece of wood and run it from from under the hull and then upto the rear most part of transom and then carry it on up and then see where anti cav plate should be.
I think youl be needing a setback of 4 inch and a raise of around 6 inch to 7 inch.

But tidy up that transom and maybe youl see a better result straight away.
the underneath also needs to be nice and clean and smooth, especially the last 4 feet.

I think you guys are onto something here... I never realized just how jacked up this thing was. I'm going to smooth it out this weekend. Any suggestions for a good epoxy filler or something else more suitable?

Uploading pics now.

Marine tex should take care of all your issues just clean up the rotten fragmented glass with acetone and sandpaper. That chewed up keel could casue huge issue's

Damm lots going on there..Id be willing to bet if you took a orbital sander 200 grit paper and cleaned the last 5 feet of hull down to the white gel..then took marine tex filled all the gouge's.. smoothed it out you would find the reason for the slip loss...The down side would be finishing what you started when you found out just how badly that deterioration effected your hull.

You think my hull is going to be waterlogged?

for determining motor height the top of the pocket is not a factor... straight line from keel for base line and then inches of setback measured from front of pocket to figure height above keel

Kinda looks like the transom landed on the boat launch a few times

Life is good clean the bottom as described and get on with life. If you choose to rebuild the old beast it's a few grand...so for now clean the bottom and have fun.

Kevin, it is great to see you on here as well, I will never forget the discussion on that 8,000 pound cruiser of yours. LOL

Well I went out tonight and it did the same thing.
Going to put on the marine tex tomorrow morning and I'll try again hopefully on Sunday.

Put on a couple coats of marine tex today. Here's some pics after the first coat.
I let this one firm up then added another coat. I'll sand this down tomorrow and see what happens.

Looking good. That ought to really help out. Make sure to get it as flat as possible.

Here's pics after a second coat... I think I'm going to need a little more to fill in the very corner (where the hull was dragged around the sand flats I'm guessing). Going to sand it down tomorrow to get a better look.
