I went crazy with the 5200 on the transom plate thing, know what I learned from that?

Don't seal it, water got trapped and I noticed some discolor of the wood, so I drilled some holes and blew it out with some compressed air...
On my Chief it had the same sorta issue, prev owner went crazy with the sealing, trapping water.
I put together with out any sealant other than around the bolt holes...

I'm not going to replace it, no way.
A piece of aluminum skin and that's it.

That HF rivet gun is the bomb. I got the larger one that does 1/4" rivets. Get your closed end pop rivets from McMaster-Carr.

hey! you're back too. good to see your progress, i always like a Man of Decisiveness who's not afraid to just take the hacksaw to his tongue!

i think you'll love bein on the water, just stock up on lots of penetrating oil! one place i looked at in OR has a BOAT HOUSE....can you imagine how loudly that one calls to me?

Yep and that was enough! I job welded it all over and added that alum plate over that, with gluvit over all of it then painted over the gluvit

Ya, Kev's got a nice place. I've been there, my kids have swam in his pool. I'm sure there is some kind of boat crimes he is committing by NOT having a boat in his backyard canal (that leads to the ocean)!!!

There is, it's a Dante's Inferno of sitting out there and not being able to jump on the boat and head out. I do try to pay a pittance by feeding any Mob members that come to the area..lol
