Correction - the snow is likely on Friday night... not tomorrow. I thought today was Thursday. I get confused on what day it is sometimes... what with being retired and all. :D

One cold day feels just like the next. Easy to loose track...

currently -15 F, which isn't too bad if that is your overnight low and it warms up a little during the day. Problem is the daytime high is expected to be -11. Windchill is somewhere in the -40 to -50 range, haven't looked for awhile, i really don't want to!

Got down to 20 degrees here this morning. My GF doesn't even own an ice scraper, so she started her car and turned on the defroster, then came back inside for a bit more coffee. Lucky for her that her car has heated seats. LOL! :D

Around here, you either have heated seats, or a tough ***.

Good way to crack a windshield if there are any small chips in it.

Pretty cool here in Victoria today...something initially in the high 30's F (3-5?c)..but its going to warm up (with rain) over the weekend.
Around these parts, spring is about 4-6 weeks away....which is when the buds, etc start to show, the Cherry Blossoms are usually out and everyone starts to hit the garden.
Regardless, there is a loose rumour of a little bit of snow maybe tomorrow....hmm, no problem....I can take a day or two.:D:D
All Good

Tuesday, 3 cars were stolen here, while warming up. people started them, left them unlocked, came out and they were gone.

Re: Dang it is cold, and getting colder

Although it was 20 here this morning, the sun came out and it did warm up to the mid-50s by the afternoon, so I went hunting for a few hours. Dressed in layers and was just a tad warm at first, but as the sun started dropping and the wind began shifting, I was glad to be wearing those layers. Hoping to go out again tomorrow for a few more hours.

That is, if we don't get freezing rain!

spring starts in 4-6 weeks in BC? Spring does not come around here until late april. We stope getting snow by mid march, but it is still plenty cold till may.

Dont let BP fool you about when spring hits BC, he's "almost" across from Seattle on vancouver Island, this means he could golf at least 11.999999 months of the year if he was so inclined :rolleyes:with the ecception of Vancouver and the rest of the "wet" coast, the rest of us dont stop plowing snow usually till the end of march.:D

we are in for a week of mid 20's nights. this can not be in Florida.

Broke a record up here in Casper, Wy last night, -27 degrees F with out the wind chill.

Wife's car started this morning OK.

My 91 Isuzu Trooper just turned over 1/2 revolution

The old 86 Ford F250's ignition switch wouldn't even move, time to take it apart and re-lube with a powered graphite. :(

But still. Reading about some of the temps they are showing is making me cold.

-5C (22F) here in K-town but we are at the start of a warming trend. Be above freezing in a day or so.

As Rob mentioned, we are very close geographically to Seattle so being located in the southwest of B.C we tend to have our own climate similar to that of Seattle.:)
B.C is a big province, equivalent to many states, so as you head north or north east out of this area it starts to change a lot. You get into the snow and cold within a few hours drive.:)
The spring thing coming to this area in 4-6 weeks is pretty accurate. We have yet to have any discernable snow at all this year. We had some frost, and about 1-2 hours worth of surface snow in mid December...and that has been it. If we don't get any in the next couple of weeks the odds are we are on our way into spring. Actually my wife was out in the Garden last weekend digging stuff up and contining a bit of pre-spring clean up.
All Good

Re: Dang it is cold, and getting colder

One of the nice things I find about the province of British Columbia is the many temprate zones, you can go from lush coastal rain forest to semi desert in an hours drive, and drive from desert to alpine in another hours drive. In the lower quarter of the province most of the valleys run north to south, 100 miles long and all with big lakes, then theres the snow and cold of winter, that everyone everywhere has to deal with.:)
