I'm interested in watching different captn's. and crews working together. Personalities are one thing....all 4 I enjoyed and will miss..Change is sometimes a good thing.

Last season they started showing some ahole with a beard and a mullet. I didn't like him. I think they have allready screened the captains and brought you the best ones for tv. I have a feeling new crews will feel like watching the b team.

I think Discovery got a dose of reality with the latest fiasco. Be it the Hillstarand's fault or Discovery's fault (we really don't know what transpired), Discovery is the one who will taking it in the shorts. The major players of that show are gone and I don't think they will be able to gain trust and get good TV personalities again, from the crab fishing fleet. I venture to say the new show will be like watching the sword fishing show, ax men, entertaining, but nothing to look forward to...

Swamp People, yeah, I'm hooked(pun intended). Didn't realize Cajuns originally came from Canada. They mentioned that in one of their first shows.

DC - Sure, it's basically the same show week after week. And I did get tired of the "F'in" this and that everyother word. But, like someone else said, it's still one of the few shows I looked forward to watching each week.

I watched the first season and enjoyed it. They eventually lost me when they felt they had to create more conflict to up the "entertainment" value. Same with Ice Road Truckers. Interesting and informative at first but devolved into personality conflicts and dramatized danger.

So... put your life on Discovery Channel or TLC (same group) and take your chances.

John and Kate Plus 8.

American Chopper

Deadliest Catch

Maybe the show causes the trouble, or these are just troubled folks who are going to wind up in some sort of mess whether there was a show or not, and the show just ensures that mess is more high-profile and Hollywood-ish.

Add me to the list of people who has enjoyed the show, but at the same time it's kind of run its course with me. About the only other thing we actually could see would be one of the ships being filmed go down...and I hope sincerely that that's never an episode. I've enjoyed it, but unless I'm bored and just want something to keep me entertained while I eat dinner, I'm probably done watching it and wont miss it.

Swamp people has been fun to watch...I never knew people limb-lined for gators! lol I also can't help but like Troy, unless he's way different off camera, you can't help but believe he's a genuine good person with a heart of gold.

I enjoy those shows until it becomes apparent that they are staging what is suppose to be real. The repo show has to be fake. I believe swap people is real..Im learning to say several things like Troy just to aggravate the wife for fun.........I can say TREE SHAKER TREE SHAKER! and "Shoeeeeet him shoeeeet him" that sounds like Troy..

I watched every episode at first. But it got old for me too. I really didn't like them constantly picking on the new guys on the ships. Ok, you are miserable on a boat. Depressed because of no sleep. Here these jackazzes keep slinging mud at you. Hard to find good help? Then why try your best to run the ones you do find?. Very juvenile!
The Time bandit would be the most fun boat. I wouldn't work for Sig if I were starving to death LOL Still, when a show loses its personality then it is going down hill. Like when American Chopper lost Junior and Mikey. Now they are trying to start some competition between them and Senior. I guess because the ratings took a nosedive after the breakup.
Wipe out show got old for me too. Ice road truckers tries to make excitement out of nothing. If I am really bored I will check in on all of them. Lets face it, TV can be a 500 channel waste land much of the time

I enjoyed the show but everything has a shelf life. Perhaps they should have introduced more different crews every season. I don't know. Ice Road Truckers is starting to wear thin as well. Except for Lisa..lol. A different ice road every year would be better in my opinion. Hey I think they should have an iboats show. That would be interesting.

At least with Ice Road Truckers, they are delving into other countries, and have the driver trying to drive in places like India, and Chile, or Bolivia. I haven't seen an episode yet, just caught a snippet of a pre-view on the Booby Tube.

That would be interesting. I know here in Canada we are only on season 3. I think the U.S is a couple years ahead of us for that show.

I enjoyed the show as well, but I agree it has pretty well run its' course. There's only so many ways to show a crab pot being pulled.

As far as the lawsuit goes, that's why we have lawyers, courts and judges. Somehow they'll get it sorted out. Everyone involved has made, or should have made, a fair bit of money off the show...

I agree. If the show continues, I will give it a chance. I am sure there are other captains and crews who are just as good as the crews on tv.
