Face it, man ... It is the only way in hell your party will win anything. It once werked using only blacks. now you have every sub-group that feels tread-upon comming outta the woodwerk to support the same party that ,in the words of Melissa Ethrich, "Threw them under the buss"!
Amazing that they keep voting for you guys -- yet they do every time.

Go back to the turn of the twentieth century 12, you will find that about fifty percent of ?our countries? population was immigrants from another country. They managed to contribute to WW1 rather well; the Democratic Party also represented, and was the party that the majority of them voted for. The Democratic party has a long history of representing the underdogs of this country, that should come as no surprise.

AS for the ?NAMBLA? we?ll leave that for the party that seems do have ??Well better let sleeping dogs ?.:D

Is that all you got? I then rest my case.
The islamo whack-jobs have one FACT about America correct -- we are indeed, "degenrate", and getting worse. But because the degenerates hold a debate does not mean anyone should surrender their moral stand for votes. Dems and repubs do it, but I'll hold judgement on the repubs until such time that agree to hold a debate show for Melissa or nambla. So far, they turned them down to the man!

Notice I didn?t refer to illegles once, I was referring only to legal immigrants, if we can get that under control we have it made.

Except for equal rights. The Republicans are responsible for the Civil rights Act of 1964. The Democrats opposed it. The Democrat's philosophy has always been to make victims of the minorities and to keep them repressed so the Democrats can be their savior.

Not going to get in a debate, don’t have time. Spend a little time reading the link, if you have some questions let me know tonight. Looks to me as if it was bi partisan wheeling and dealing to get around the southern Democrats.

<The specific source of the 1964 Civil Rights Act was the President of the United States. John Kennedy began the process of gaining support for the legislation in a nationally televised address on June 11, 1963. Discouraged by the violence accompanying the Birmingham demonstrations, Kennedy urged in eloquent language that Americans take action to guarantee equal treatment of every individual, regardless of color.>

Quote:I want to hear about you or your family unable to carry out your daily tasks because you don't speak spanish, or how you or your loved ones lost their jobs and were directly replaced by an illegal alien, or something of that nature.
---------------------------------------

ILLEGAL aliens!......Are finding there way into many skilled labor jobs that many Americans were trained to do correctly. Specifically in most all construction trades....carpentry, welding, steel erectors. and heavy equiptment operators. Because of this most skilled tradesmen (myself included) have had to move on to other professions due to an unsafe working environment AND low wages that these unskilled people will work for. Lots of high rise accidents have occured in miami and Ft lauderdale. Google it!

Most of these folks drive without insurance or a drivers license so if you or your loved one is hurt or killed your out of luck....I certanly do not wish the circumstance on anyone but it is a fact of life here in S. Fla..

Oh for personal hardship? When I first came down here 17 years ago I was un-enployed for 9 months because most jobs and employers where I was extremely qualified requested that the applicants be Bi-lingual (SP) . It got so bad that I had to take a job at foot locker AND learn enough spanglish sell to tennies to all the latins that refused to speak english to a gringo. I still remember one of the first phrases a cuban co-worker taught me and it fits this thread nicely.......besa me a culo! me amigo! ;)

That stinks man. You were sold out to the lowest bidder. This needs to be fixed asap. This issue is just as important as the issue of what to do with the ones that are here. Sadly, the latter gets most of the attention. Both issues are equally important imo.

What a bunch of xenophobes.
here's a question for you mexican-haters:
exactly... how has illegal immigration affected you personally in a concrete, meaningful and negative way?..
Personal: Well let's see, burglary of business (loss of income). Higher Insurance premiums (accident with uninsured illegal mexican driver at fault.)
Higher taxes to cover state welfare, education, law enforcement, medical and incarceration costs of illegals. One dollar taken from me for the well being of an uninvited border crossing criminal is too much IMHO.
Apparently you are OK with the fact that your state and country pisses millions of tax dollars away on illegals and taxes have no direct effect on you. Stanford Review

I am proud to be a American and a retired veteran. As an legal immigrant, I took (and kept) a vow to never become a burden to the state. Those were the conditions for the legal immigrants in the 50's. A condition that does not apply to illegals today.

The House of Representatives debated the bill for nine days and rejected nearly one hundred amendments designed to weaken the bill before passing H.R .7152 on February 10, 1964. Of the 420 members who voted, 290 supported the civil rights bill and 130 opposed it. Republicans favored the bill 138 to 34; Democrats supported it 152-96. It is interesting to note that Democrats from northern states voted overwhelmingly for the bill, 141 to 4, while Democrats from southern states voted overwhelmingly against the bill, 92 to 11. A bipartisan coalition of Republicans and northern Democrats was the key to the bill's success. This same arrangement would prove crucial later to the Senate's approval of the bill.
The Republican Party was not so badly split as the Democrats by the civil rights issue. Only one Republican senator participated in the filibuster against the bill. In fact, since 1933, Republicans had a more positive record on civil rights than the Democrats. In the twenty-six major civil rights votes since 1933, a majority of Democrats opposed civil rights legislation in over 80 % of the votes. By contrast, the Republican majority favored civil rights in over 96 % of the votes.
Under the Senate rules, after cloture is invoked each senator may speak for one hour on the bill or pending amendments. Although southerners called up many amendments between June 10 and June 17 to stall action further, the Senate leadership allowed only those it wanted to be adopted. Most of the amendments were defeated by large margins. On June 17, the Senate voted by a 76 to 18 margin to adopt the bipartisan substitute worked out by Dirksen in his office in May and to give the bill its third reading. Two days later, the Senate passed the bill by a 73 to 27 roll call vote. Six Republicans and 21 Democrats held firm and voted against passage. In all, the the 1964 civil rights debate had lasted a total of 83 days, slightly over 730 hours, and had taken up almost 3,000 pages in the Congressional Record.

Quit being jerks, why are you blaming the illegal immigrants for all of the country's ailments?
Most are trying to provide a better life for their families.
Your beef ought to be with yourselves and your employers for hiring them.

Amen. Like you, my beef is that anyone would hire criminals in the first place.
If they couldn't exploit the system, they would stay home.

Just my general perspective on the problem, nothing personally directed at anyone.

There was illegal immigration prior to Bush and there will be illegal immigration after Bush.

None of the iboats spin masters, from which ever side of the coin they may hail, are'nt as opaque; as much as they may like to convince themselves.

All this drivel about the U.S. going tits up with out illegals is crap....
Hell, the savings in reduced traffic, less gas cornsumption, greenhouse emissions.....;):)
I could go on & on!....
Give 'em the boot I say!....
Talk about working the system:
The child of illegal immigrant parents (born here of course) needs alot of medical attention, so the parents get to stay here because the situation causes the family 'hardship'.....

Legislative history

The Act was sent to Congress by President Lyndon Johnson on, March 17,1965, supported by ideas of the segregated south and of John Kennedy who was assassinated before the action could take place. The Senate passed the bill on May 11,(after a successful cloture vote on March 23); the House passed it on July 10. After differences between the two bills were resolved in conference, the House passed the Conference Report on August 03, the Senate on August 04. President Johnson signed the Act on August 06,1965.
Vote count

Senate: 77?19
  • Democrats: 47?17
  • Republicans: 30?2
House: 333?85
  • Democrats: 221?61
  • Republicans: 112?24
Quoting myself
