"You've got to be English to qualify for a knighthood,"<br /><br /> Not so, One can only be knigthed if they're British, that is anyone born within the British common wealth. ;)

Here is one for you Dave.<br />Andy (?) Irvine. One of the best full-backs ever, and a Scotsman.<br />Watched him play a few times, and he was good. If you made up a paper World 15 from the last Centuary, he would go close to being in the side.<br />As a side isuue, my neighbour at the Market. Told her about you, the photos you had etc. She said: "tell him I came from Preists Hill. He will know what I mean". Apparantly a pretty tough place.<br />Cheers<br />Phillip

We shouldn't knock the Jocks.<br />My wife is a Mowatt (descendant). Even her dogs had to be Westhighland Terriers. (personally I prefer the Scotty - what an attitude)<br />My 1st was a Boyce<br />I reckon the Jocks are like the Chinese. You will find them in every country in the world, running busines's, all the guys own a skirt, and every city must surely have a Highland Band.<br />No party compares to one of theirs.<br />Cheers<br />Phillip

Warnie only took 6 wickets at Lords (12 at the Oval)It would have been 20 if the grounds man had produced a turning wicket. Lets face it he's that good he could rip it off glass ;) ;)

Too true! I even went to a school (Knox Grammar) where we had to wear kilts in the cadets...

Who cares about wearing a kilt, a good ale and good whiskey is all that matters :D <br /><br />BTW, How was the haggis?... you tried the haggis did'nt you?

Hey Elmer, quick tip. The Scots spell it whisky, the Irish and Americans spell it whiskey. And none of them can play cricket! (Maybe too much grain based spirits in their blood?) :D

Re: Dunaruna, Kiwi Phil & Get Reel

So Mr R Ponting has declared himslef to have been too "soft" on the English and to have not "hardened himself or the team enough". Now there's a surprise. So instead of resigning he and the selectors have dumped Dizzy, Damien and Kasper. Lord help us! No wonder AB resigned as a selector!

Bit hard to fathom just what direction they are going.<br />This next "big" match is going to be interesting. What's everybody's prediction?<br />Cheers<br />Phillip

I'm not suprised at the changes made to the Aussie team, having lost the Ashes the selectors had to be seen to do somthing. I think that Martyn has been very unlucky, he was on the recieving end of some very bad decisions from the umpires and probably didn't deserve to be droped.

OK, RP - email is mdbarnett@optusnet.com.au. You are hereby invited out on the harbour for NYE 06 to watch the fireworks - it's a great experience seeing something the size of the Harbour Bridge burst into crescendos of light and sound.<br /><br />What did you think of the game last night? Would have been even more of a massacre if Australia held onto a few more catches. Entertaining though. :)

RP, Did you mean '05 or '06?<br /><br />Mark, did you see the crowd ?(or lack thereof).<br />I heard that the tickets were astronomical which resulted in a noshow. Maybe the weekend will be better.
