Re: Dunaruna, Kiwi Phil & Get Reel

I saw the highlights on the news. Probably go done as the greatest 1 day game.
Also saw a program re "20 Greatest.... " (something) and it showed Warne bowling Gatting (I think, in around '93) and it was termed as the greatest ball bowled in the Centuary.
GWB had more idea of what was happening with the Indians than poor Gatting did with Warnes ball.
It also showed Don Bradmans duck in his last innings in '48 stopping him from getting a Test Career of over 100%. Great stuff.
Cheers
Phillip

The only thing that i can think of is lousy pitch preperation by the grounds staff.
That had to be one real slow wicket, where all the balls probably ended up being long hops.

Re: Dunaruna, Kiwi Phil & Get Reel

I feel for ya RP: Freddie Flintoff was actually playing like he always does: blooming marvelous.
Saw the highlights of that other game mentioned on the news (the Ozzies and the Sud Afriques) and it was incredible: even Ms Deezy sat up and took notice with the immortal phrase......"are they supposed to keep hitting the ball into the stand? Supposing someone gets hit with it?"

And the rugby?????????

OMG

yer playing like Scotland did last year only wurser :D
That final French try is gonna be replayed in this house for years and years and years and years and years and years and.....well, ya get the idea! :p

OK, so who won? Did England have a brilliant recovery or was it the Curry-munchers who came out on top?
Cheers
Phillip

Thanks Darth.

There is nothing that our Aussie friends can say about the performance of any other cricket team that I can take seriously anymore, I mean, when you support a team who have bowlers with figures of 10-0-113-0, can you realy expect the rest of the world to listen.

:D :D ;)

Re: Dunaruna, Kiwi Phil & Get Reel

So how many Commonwealth medals do you reckon England will win this time RPJS?

My betting is:

England 1 of each (except gold and silver :D )

Scotland 12, 3 golds, 4 silvers and 5 bronze (and when asked who we beat to get them we'll answer "The owners!") :D

The Ozzies will win one just because they are the host colony.

Bet the Canadians do well......at beach volleyball.

and the Oirish team will win the Gold in the hide 'n' seek because the team is still at the airport :D :D

Guess what. The Poms beat the Okkers last night in the 7-a-side Rugby game. Mind you, the Poms scored when 2 of the Okkers were in the sin-bin.
Cheers
Phillip

I didn't see the game Phil.

Having 2 players in the bin durring a 7's game would prove a slight handycap.

But I won't make to many excuses for you, any England win over the Aussies is a GREAT win.

:D :D

Yep RPJS and those English hockey girls are quite cute, even if they did hammer the ugly Scots lassies :(

Looking at the Scottish goalkeeper reminded me of a little dit:

sitting in a Coastguard Landrover one balmy afternoon at a popular beach a couple of young ladies walked by. One of them was a looker but the other had definitely seen better days. My partner turned to me and said "I bet you could her happy for a few hours?" to which I replied "Don't be silly. Where am I going to get a dog biscuit at this time of day?" :D :D

Yes Phillip there's certainly been a few interesting results in this set of Games: I am gobsmacked by how well the Scots have done in the swimming events........I mean I know we had some bad flooding up there recently but

:D :D :D

The event that has me hooked at the moment is the boxing, now that has been nail-biting at times. Loved watching the little Malawi bloke knocking down the lanky RSA bloke who was being way too confident for his own good :D

I hear what you are saying about the swimming Stan.

A commontator on the telly made a comment along the lines of,
"all Australians are great swimmers, if someone tells you they can't swim it means they have not been picked for the olympic team yet"
If you look at the meadal tally for the "home nations" in swimming weve got more than the Aussies.
