Re: Dunaruna, Kiwi Phil & Get Reel

Sorry techie,

This thread is NOT going to be hijacked!

Sounds like the war of words between Eng and Aus has started in earnest. Even SKW is getting in on the act, suggesting that certain players should play (for Eng) because he has dismissed them so often. :D

Chris............

Probably just an optical elusion, he will always be fat in the eyes of an Englishman.

As for extra marital exersise, it sounded more like a 30 sec workout from the interview I read. Its strange that a guy can get himself into so much trouble in such a short time. :D

There is some rumblings that Graham Thorpe might quit playing in England.
I hope that is not true, it'll definitely be a great loss to english cricket.

Re: Dunaruna, Kiwi Phil & Get Reel

I hate to inform you, but even if England were to produce a 5-0 win (quite unlikely :D ), Australia would still remain on the top of the ICC champions table.....

Sorry guys :(

Chris...........

The grass is cut, (I saw an interview with the head grounds man at Lords, he has made the wicket for seam bowling not spin).

Beers in the fridge, do not disturb sign on the door & phone off the hook. 26 1/2 Hrs to go.

Let Battle Commence!!

Re: Dunaruna, Kiwi Phil & Get Reel

If any Americans are still following this thread, let me explain.
England and Australia are playing for the Ashes, a very important "Trophy".
The problem is

1. The POMS havn't won since about 1987 (or something - could be wrong , but it is so long it is hard to remember)

2. The POMS won't let the winning team take the Ashes (trophy) home with them.

Now, who else but the POMS could dream up a championship like that. :D but..........we play along with them and let them think it's important whereas to us down under, we go on to the feild not just wanting to beat them, but slaughter them, and let them keep their blxxdy trophy. :D :D :D
Cheers
Phillip

I am still with you Phil, subject to change without notice... ;) Keeping the trophy sounds like a shallow victory.
Profanity in a foriegn language is permitted. :p

No, HP. Profanity, like personal insults, is not permitted in any recognizable language.

For all those from the US who may be thinking that the Ashes trophy must be 6' tall and solid gold for all of this fuss to be made, I must bring you down to earth

This is the Ashes. The urn stands a little over 4" tall and contains the ashes of a bail (part of the stumps) used durring the Oval test of 1882, the first time Australia won a game on English soil, after 28yrs of trying.

@ KiwiPhil, the winning team will be taking the trophy home this year. :D :D
