Trying all my local options first as i live on a small island as far east as you can go in North America without getting wet so shipping is very $$$$

:)
I have a buddy that is building a hotrod 1950 pickup truck in Scotland. He recently bought a bunch of motor parts from Rock Auto. shipping was only $50 more than shipping to florida and he gets his parts faster than I do by 3 days and that is clearing customs.

co-worker ships things to his family all the time in the Philippines. if it fits in the box, $85 no mater what the weight

you may be surprised on shipping.

Most shipping goes by truck / ferry to this Island / Rock and that adds to the cost.----Shipped a part to that Rock a while ago and party had no issues with cost of shipping.

Nine-character model numbers indicate outboards made between 1980 and 1998. The two letters occupying the seventh and eighth spots in the model number indicate the specific year of manufacture. Evinrude's code is such that each letter corresponds to a single digit; I corresponds to 1, N to 2, T to 3, R to 4, O to 5, D to 6,

Comparing cranks from a 80’s and a 90’s 115hp see the crack on the pto end ———— toast 😞

Still looking for 90-140hp Evinrude motor or parts

So the crank that is clean and has a shine to it is from the motor i pulled out of the 115hp mid 90's

the oily one came with the box of parts and i think its from the 80's

  • Where the bearing sits it measures the same on both
  • Spline count is 20T
  • The crank that came out of the 115Hp is longer
  • The end where the seal rides is a different size and length
  • I had the box of parts crank sitting on the turbojet in the boat

The adventure continues :)

Local boat shop just left me a message saying they have a 92 Johnson 100hp they took on trade full motor, it runs but does have a carb issue $300
Thoughts ?

Plan to go have a look and compression test it and have a look in the cylinders. What else should a novice outboard guy look for ?

My boat is missing pump parts they are clamp#16, intake grate#67, ride plate#54. I just ordered two clamps #16 as they are the only thing still available .......

Going to have to source the other two used :)

**Disclaimer: I have not dealt with nor have any ties to the following**

Might check with them as they *seem* to be a rather large salvage shop with all sorts of oddball stuff. Very possible they *may* have something.
