Final items for edelbrock 1409 installation

Hello again, I had written a transition from Rochester to carb thread and have a few other issues that may be of interest for my 350 Mercruiser alpha one install.

Rochester use an in-carb fuel filter and Edelbrock units do not. Is it necessary to install an in-line filter on the fuel line.
I already am using a Sierra 10 micron water separator/ fuel filter. (Edelbrock has a 40 micron unit they offer as part of their auto installation kits model #8129, but I don't want to restrict fuel flow with over-filtration. What do you guys think?

Is the water separator/fuel filter sufficient to filter fuel to the Edelbrock or should I install an in-line filter as well?

Also can I use the switch +12 lead that is powering my electric fuel pump to power the electric choke on the carb as well, (purple in the Mercruiser wiring diagrams) or should a separate line be run. I do not think this should matter however, there is a drain associated with the electric choke as it is a bit of a short to heat up the metallic spring which opens the choke.

Ayuh,... That's Plenty of filter,... Don't put another in-line....

Pull yer power for the choke from the ignition circuit...Not the fuel pump wire, as it's run differently...

I will have to dig into this further. I believe purple wire is the ignition switched circuit and also powers the fuel pump. Do you have any guidance where else to pull the power from- on the harness. Perhaps the starter assist solenoid or 50a breaker? I have heard the electric choke will not affect much if I use the same line as I had mentioned. The choke will act as a load but should not affect much?

thanks for your thoughts and comments

Ayuh,.... Yes, pull the choke power from the purple wire at the top of the motor...

The fuel pump is fed from the same circuit, but through an oil pressure switch 1st, then the pump....
