Hello again, I had written a transition from Rochester to carb thread and have a few other issues that may be of interest for my 350 Mercruiser alpha one install.
Rochester use an in-carb fuel filter and Edelbrock units do not. Is it necessary to install an in-line filter on the fuel line.
I already am using a Sierra 10 micron water separator/ fuel filter. (Edelbrock has a 40 micron unit they offer as part of their auto installation kits model #8129, but I don't want to restrict fuel flow with over-filtration. What do you guys think?
Is the water separator/fuel filter sufficient to filter fuel to the Edelbrock or should I install an in-line filter as well?
Also can I use the switch +12 lead that is powering my electric fuel pump to power the electric choke on the carb as well, (purple in the Mercruiser wiring diagrams) or should a separate line be run. I do not think this should matter however, there is a drain associated with the electric choke as it is a bit of a short to heat up the metallic spring which opens the choke.
