That would be cool Jim. God knows I have seen many boats on the water that wished there was a mechanic nearby (myself included).
How would you run a credit card through on the water????

Re: Finally an old tinny that I can work on with my daughter

I finally got my furnace working right in my garage. Seems you have to have the door to the furnace closed to get it to work right. Im glad i work on boats and not furnaces for a living id starve to death lol. Actually a little more in depth than that you actually need power going to the furnace to get it to work. I was about to go call my furnace guy bu decided to use the brain i know i have and trouble shoot before calling. Lesson to be learned here.

So with the furnace working i can go out and clean my shop yet again and rearrange some things. I have a couple of customer winter projects that need to be stored inside so the project boat will move to the other side of the shop this weekend.

Ill be brining home my next project Friday.

stripped some paint tonight. I keep setting goals in getting this thing stripped and keep having set backs. The plan is still to splash this thing in May.

Check out my post in non repair topics about storing a boat outside should be a little helpful. http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?p=2993786#post2993786

Been there, done that, bought the T Shirt. Feels good not to have to call the furnace guy though, eh!

Rock on!

Jim,

Read your thread. Looking good and making good progress considering you have your own business. I am anxious to see what you decide to do with the final layout. Keep up the good work.

Re: Finally an old tinny that I can work on with my daughter

Thanks Greg.

Well if it wasnt for Murphy life would be no fun.
Yesterday we had one of the worst wind storms in recent history. It was just an all around bad day. let me vent guys cause if i dont I might get drunk and start telling people what I really think lol.

I am a volunteer emt/firefighter and it was a busy night last night.
I was responding to a downed power line and as I was backing out of my drive I backed right into a tree at the end of my driveway. Did about 2500 dollars damage to my truck.
I responded with the ambulance to the scene.... no biggie lights on no siren going real slow due to all the debris. I came acrossed a downed tree 3/4 of the way across the highway and swerved to go around it and caught the tree with the cab corner of the ambulance.

but wait it gets better......

Got home and discovered my boiler in my house isnt working after installing a $250.00 dollar part that was supposed to fix the problem. Spent another $200.00 dollars having the hvac guy come and clean the boiler and replace another part that only cost $25.00 and was the culprit all along. Word of advice.... never listen to your brother he really dosnt know what he is talking about...

so i will not be buying the other starcraft due to the $500.00 deductable for my truck. Good news is i am starting to see allot of starcrafts for sale and will find another one later on. Also the furnace in my shop is kicking out the heat pretty good.

Wow, sounds like you and Murphy ARE friends. Sorry about the misshaps but at least they are things that can be fixed. Bright side: you didn't wreck your boat.:D

Well progress has come to a crawl but I'm still at it. Shop is finally a toasty 70 degrees. I have to move the project over to the shop side of the garage because I have to work on a jet boat project this winter. And it leaves no room for parking the wifes car. If the wife aint happy then the world is a painful place to live. I can't move any thing around untill my truck gets back from the body shop this week. Deer hunting opens this next weekend and I will be devoting most of my time to that. Its my daughters first year hunTing and I am tickled to death that she wants to hunt.

Wow! I havnt been here in awhile but still working on the boat. Right now im flooding hockey rinks and overhauling the zamboni. I also have been really busy this winter so far with the business. Seems like I wont get much time to work on the project. I just wanted to drop a line to let every one know that I am alove and the project is slowly working. Paint is still being stripped.
I will post pics tomorrow night.
Oh by the way merry christmas to all or whatever you celebrate!

Get your priorities straight Jim. This boat is for you & your daughter. You can only hunt a few months but you can fish all year.
Great your back Bro, take care and get back to the boat.
That kinda make me the pot or the kettle?

Re: Finally an old tinny that I can work on with my daughter

So this is the plan> starting tomorrow the wife and kids are gone all day and I am going to lock my self in my shop untill I get the bottom stripped and ready for paint. Same thing for sunday Ill listen to the packers on the radio while working. It has been very busy here this year and I think im finally done with the normal customers. I hope every one had a good christmas or what ever you celebrate and a new year.!.

Jim, truly hope you & yours had a great christmas and happy new year. Don't promise what you can't control my brother. I have tried and it just don't work out. How about just doing what you can and posting and showing pics along the way? We all have our ambitions but somehow life gets in the way, just keep on stroking and you will get there.
