Roughly 400 nm to Bornholm, with the anticipated top speed of 14 knots it would take me roughly 30 hours from here. From Helsinki maybe 36 hours. Totally doable, but realistically it's three days of churning.

The beautiful thing is that the engine only eats 3-5l of fuel per hour, so the trip won't break the bank.

Just watched the weather report. I'll have to pack all the chemicals tomorrow and get them to the storage. The night temperatures are getting real low the next few days. Unfortunately that basically means I'm done for this year...

Will be a great route, will combine it with fishing, diving and meeting some friends in Stockholm and Gotland!

Now everything is ready for winter, the engine is basically done, so now I'll get back to town and earn money for the plotter, fridge, compressor and batteries. Will update if I get some big questions. But otherwise I'll be back in April! Take care everyone and thank you for the encouragement and help!

Thanks everyone! Been enjoying the sauna every day while I was building, not much of that luxury back in town. It's the only way to heat water and wash oneself since there's no boiler or shower in the house.

My dads pride and joy, he built it himself with planks from his own trees. Might not be fancy, but it works.

Red what are the two horizontal slots with rods sticking out of them? Dampers maybe? Don't tell me you've been cooking Finnish pizzas in the sauna!

I had to Google dampers in fireplaces, I was under the impression dampers had to do with exhausts and cars :)

But yes, that's what they are. Both chimney ducts have a simple one, it's basically just a heavy retractable sheet of iron used to control the suction/ventilation. But now that you said it, it could be used for smoking meat and cooking pizza with some small modificstions. Haha, a great idea with distinct ecological advantages. Your sauna smelling of burnt cheese might be slight downer though...

Very glad to see the latest advances...looking great!
Sorry to hear that old man Winter is putting a halt on further hull work, but the time will be good for the money tree to flourish and for tons of fresh ideas to fill your head...
Can't wait to see what happens next...maybe some eco-friendly sauna cooking tips......?...stay warm.:)

Yihaa! Back at the grind. Spent most of the day cleaning up and tidying the tent. Will start glassing tomorrow. Hired some help later in July and seriously hoping to get all the fiberglass work done this year.

Hope you're all good and healthy! Been working so much that everything else had to wait.
