Re: First boat Resto in progress " advice needed"
Well its been a long break and I am going to get started on the boat again, I hope to get it completed by the end of this summer! I have not had time to work on it much this summer but am bout to get goin again, this is not a race to me as I have another small fishing boat anyways, just got back from a 2 week vacation to Canada "Lake of the woods" for a fmaily fishing trip we had a real good time fishing was slow due to heat but it was a ton of fun as usual Sioux Narrows is a great place! Since my last post I have got my front stringers PL'ed into place and I did repair the drain hole section and let me tell ya it turned out PERFECT! I didn't drill the hole just used the old metal sleeve as a mold and used some plastic that the epoxy wouldn't stick to and the hole ended up smooth as glass, sure beat drilling and worrying about chipping. I did just as you guys said and added the fibers so I kindoved learned the hard way on that but it turned out great I bet it will seal like a champ, in all honesty probably don't even need a sleeve but I will install one anyways. I am going to try to get the transom tabbed and glassed today! Question= I am thinking this is not nessassary but I have been wondering this since does the sole and transom need to be glassed completely? I am sure you guys think this is taking me awhile and it is but like I said it is no race to me as I have another small boat for fishing so it keeps me entertained, then I get back to tall grass and my wheel horse breaks down while trying to mow, it is always something! Today my poor grandpa 85 yrs. old had to have a ruptured appendix removed they were worried cause he was on blood thinners and was trying to get his blood thickened enough to do the operation but I just got word the operation is finished and went well but of coarse he is still under and not breathing on his own yet but thinks he will be shortly so please pray for him! Thanks guys
