Quick update . . . This morning I checked the suspect tire and it was flat (again). So, there must be something going on. Soapy water has not revealed anything . . . So, I have the tire in a dunk tank, looking for bubbles.

In my previous post where I mentioned I had the same problem and it turned out to be the valve stem I should have said it was the valve itself. Make sure you submerge the entire valve stem.

It rare but I have seen rims leak so watch out for
Bubbles there too.

Mystery solved . . .

It was a flakey valve stem (valve actually). When I check the pressure it starts leaking. When I check it again it stops leaking.

Looks like a new valve stem should do it.

or your valve stem insert just needs to be changed.

Your post reminded me to check the tire pressure on my two trailers., as it approaches time to pull 'em. The speedboat trailer had 50PSI and called for 80PSI. I filled it. The 21 footer tandem trailer was fine at near 50PSI.

I also was inspired to spray the rusty parts of the trailer with cold galv paint.

The disc brakes still bind the calipers, due to rust, but they will loosen up, as I pull it. Cast iron rotors are not good in the maritime, but they are cheaper than aluminum.
