Just check in with Crystal Isle, everything is a go on their end. Get your reservations made, only have until March 1st, to get one of the reserved water front lots. i have to release them, March 1st, then anyone can rent them.

do most show up on friday, stay till sunday? or is this a saturday event only?
Im in Gainesville and have only fished CR once, caught some small fish, saw some huge ones. If anyone wants to go scout the area for tarpon between now and then, pm me. otherwise, i will see you all there, if thats okay for a greenhorn to attend?

Friday thru Sunday, some will arrive on Thursday and probably all will leave on Sunday, so yes the full weekend.

We are working on breakfast and dinner menus, on Saturday, for 60 members and family, that is about the best count I can give, if they all make it we will have a good sized group.

Good hearing from you, Kyle. Hope to be able to see you there. That area is a great fishery. No one has yet to mention the tarpon fishing before you just did. The best I can recall, it starts in May and runs thru July. So, we will be getting there a little early for them. If the weather were to turn and it got warmer sooner, there is a chance of them showing while we are there.
Lot's of other good fishing spots..especially the huge trout, mackeral, redfish fishing on the flats just outside of the channel leading out. Cobia are known to frequent the channel and show up as the water warms to the high 60's.
So, with all that happening, hope to see you there. I have thought about having a clinic or two for those that want to fish, as I have fished those waters off and on most of my life...and I'm gettin a little old...:redface:

im origananlly from Vero Beach, fished the grassflats and numerous spoil islands on the indian river growing up, just got hit with the offshore bug the past 5 years or so, but my gheenoe can only take the offshore stuff on certain days, so i fish the shallows A LOT... ive made a dozen or so trips up here on the west coast, but i gotta tell you, its a different animal compared to the east coast. I have a projected timeline in gainesville for another 2-3 years, so if you want to pass some CR/CK knowledge this way, i would be all years at the rally...
Actually the last time i DID fish CR was in april of last year. but last year was a bit warmer, so we'll see bout them poondaddies

It is a 14ft Alu my question it is 56 to 59, I am still trying to run it down. I also have a 30 horse Johnson 1956 that I am working on. Would like to see what others have done a any recommendation I can get. cjtaylor

Just found out yesterday that I have to attend a Tradeshow in Panama City Sun-Friday, I originally wasn't scheduled but things happen..
I may be able to get out Thursday afternoon/evening and run home, heck it's only what 9 hours?...dammit
Get home, load the truck & boat (God willing she's ready) and turn around for the River....Gonna be pretty rough, Diane will have to have all the food/camping items/gear ready to load up while I'm gone..
I am NOT bowing out by any means yet..I may just fly in & out to save the time and ship the tradeshow stuff ahead..Just want to let you guys know, I'll keep the committe members updated via our emails..

KEV, I have a plan B. On your way up, tow the boat and what gear you need and you can park it safely off COUNTY LINE RD. which is supposed to be close. Do the business trip, blast home. Pick up your things, drive by, pick up the boat and you are there. Beats rushing and trailering up 75, you are going to be tired. Let me know and I will make arrangements. FRED
