Pulling the flywheel on a 1978 35hp. Have the puller not sure what size the 3 bolts i should use are? someone suggested 1/4x20 should these work not sure? thanks alot
There has been some confusion on this site (and apparently in Evinrude owner's Manuals too) about the size bolts. They should be 1/4-20 on this size and vintage engine. There is a possibility they may be 5/16-24. Whichever size bolts you use be careful to avoid running them in too deep into the flywheel. If you run them in too deep they can contact the coils and make quite a mess.
