As most here are aware,Mrs.Tyme is down for the count. I'm not much of a cook but here is what I have planned for this evening.

Friday Supper Menu: I found a 2.5lb tip roast in the freezer last night and sat it in the fridge to thaw overnight. This morning I started peeling and cutting potatoes, onion, carrot and I found a small bit of cabbage in the fridge. I placed all the veggies in the crock pot and then seared the roast on both sides in the frying pan. I then placed the roast in the pot on top of the veggies. Also added ground black pepper, sea salt, and since we don't have garlic cloves, I added some garlic powder. Filled the pot about half way with some beef broth and now we just wait. I would've added some celery but we're out. Think this will work?

If I left something out, please let me know and if we have it, I'll add it.

Sounds perfect. However, I can't make it to Indiana by supper time. :(

Lovage adds a taste better I think than celery, kind of a smokey taste.

You need to turn the crock pot on.

I ordered pizza Thursday night to watch the NFL game.Large Pizza along with a garden salad for Mrs.Tyme served with a red wine vinaigrette dressing, bread sticks with dipping sauce, and a 2 liter of cola. Pizza came loaded with sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, green peppers, black olives, green olives and topped with the finest mozzarella cheese. Delivery was free!!

Seared it in a cast iron skillet.

Figured. I was gonna suggest getting the pan hot again and deglazing it to get the goodness left behind from the searing process, but then it occurred to me it might be cast iron which can crack if you do that to it. Carry on with the slow cooking of the luscious cow.

Re: Friday evening suppler plans

My wife started adding a can of Campbell's Golden Mushroom soup and a can of Campbell's French Onion soup to her crock pot when cooking a roast.

I'll have to admit it's the best thing I've ever had. We'll never go back to roaster pans for cooking roasts.

Hee,hee. I never thought about that. I can give her a dutch oven tonight and she'll never be able to escape fast enough with her bum knee. Perfect.:D

JB, I hate to tell you, but if you don't have a transporter like the one on Star Trek you'll never get here in time. Sorry.

Re: Friday evening suppler plans

Dinner has been served. My taste buds never got excited. I just don't like my own cooking. Mrs. Tyme cleaned her plate and said it was great. I think she was just being kind. Oh well, the dishes have been washed and the kitchen cleaned up and now it's time for a bourbon...or 2....or 6.
