I know that a lot of good, knowledgable, friendly members left because of software problems. My guess would be that loosing old members eventually causes a loss in new memberships and eventually, sales has to be impacted.

I say go for the new software. This one is a lemon.

While I'm for a change I urge whoever is responsible for making it happen require that it be thoroughly tested before a cutover. This version was not - - and it showed from day1.

As others have mentioned one of the requirements should be the ability to bring over all of the old posts with a search function like the old one used to have. If this is not possible is there any chance that the old version could be revived as read only just so that we could access the wide depth of knowledge that is there? The current search is next to useless.

I have to agree with some others that it is your boat and we are guests.

1. I do miss a useable search feature. There is allot of prior knowledge here that is not available.

2. I like some of the features but would be willing to lose a few for speed.

3. I think most here are up for a change if it works well.

Things have smoothed out some but too many things do not work and it took too long and too much pain to get it to where it currently is.

There must be something that is inherently better. I say go for it.

iboats was very cooperative and responsive the last time around so with a better platform I invision that you will make all necessary adjustments in good time.

I say go for it, but as mentioned before, test, test and test it some more. Also as mentioned, make it available to a few to try it out before you launch it to the public. Maybe that way you can fix the bugs first.

Yeah, working OK for me now, and we are really in no position to biotch, but . . . Go fer it. Frankly it was much easier to be helpful with the old search function. It is really awkward with so many dead tools, dead clicks, slow response etc., and I am on a pretty decent connection. We all try and improve our boats, the same should happen here.

I like some of the features of the current program but do not like the search function, move a post function, log on feature which many have problems with, poor speed, etc, etc, etc,........

Hey admin...want a few of us should go up and see the guy that sold you this program?......maybe convince him to fix it?......we make him an offer he don't refuse...:devil:d

It's your business, so do what is best for you.
This is the worst 'site' to get on to of ANY site I have ever visited.
We have lost some real good blokes from down-under, and the survivors are the blokes who persist...and believe me, you really have to be persistant!!

This forum has helped me several times AND is a fun source of entertainment to me. It will need to be a "perfect storm" to shake me from this forum. I will go with the flow whichever channel you choose.
