Still $3.579 a gallon here ... went down the $0.02 cents and stayed there. Neighboring town (30 miles away) is selling at $3.439 a gallon. Go figure.

well last week gas was 3.92 on friday it went to 3.99 on saturday 4.29, 4.19, 4.09 depending on witch station you went to about 3 miles seperate them funny thing is i see the same truck filling the tanks at all three stations so how is there a 20 cent difference

Lucky you!
I've noticed ever since Katrina, Chicago seems to be one of the highest areas in the Country. Good thing 20% of our oil comes from Canada right next door!

Although you're not exactly right next door, I'm assume the surrounding areas suffer the same fate.

Well I think we sell our oil and gas to the US and buy it back so the gov't can tax it at a higher rate.

We're paying $5.14/gallon today....approx 20-30% more than the US gouging rate.

The first thing anyone says when I tell them I own a boat is "bet that sucker drinks the gas huh?". I always tell them it is worth every penny. But I am trying to find a way to convert my truck to natural gas. ;)

Before Ike: $3.44
After Ike: $3.75
Thats for non-ethanol gas at the station nearest to my home.

I'm sitting here watching the news...
It seems the Sheetz chain has 30 stores in three states (MD included) due to a pipeline shut down in the gulf.
No one else is having a problem (yet).
matter of fact, I ran up to the local Exxon to get a pack of smokes, a truck was there unloading.
Does Sheetz have their own personal pipeline?

The Governor has responded to "supply shortages" by signing a waiver allowing tanker drivers to drive more hours for 6 days. Here in Baltimore, the supply comes by ship. Trucks are for local delivery. Another "feel good" political boondoggle?

And how come I'm paying road taxes for boat fuel? Farmers can buy diesel for non-road use.

The Tennessee Attorney General's office announced yesterday that they would be handing out $1000 fines per incident for reported price gouging, and that they have 60,000 incidents reported last weekend alone. Today the price of gas is back to normal.

I wish the Indiana Attorney General would do that. Gas was up to $4.29 around here, its still just over $4.00 at most stations.

The scam alot of places have pulled around here was to stop selling until they got a new delivery at a much higher price then sell it and what they already had at a jacked up price, Unless someone were to monitor everything they have sold for weeks theres no way to catch them. As of now the prices are still 400 or more for reg and they will keep them up as long as they can.

I happened to be on the Dept. of Energy's web site today.
They had an online form you can fill out which reports price gouging gas stations.
They didn't have one for greedy corporations though.

Are you still using the imperial gallon up there?
I was there during the first crunch in the 70's and it was $1.00 an Imp. Gal.
Between the dollar difference and the quantity difference, it would up being the same price.

Most of the "off-brand" stations here went to $3.69/gal and have stayed there. If I am not mistaken. however, Louisiana has its own price gouging law and is enforcing it.
