Hi,

A couple of months back I got my boat stolen, I'm stuck with my Hummingbird 757c Sonar/GPS and no wiring for it along with, gps antenna, transducer, mounting unit, etc.. Having purchased the unit last May, I would like to install it on my new boat, any suggestions other then the Hummingbird site that I already visited on who to purchase missing components?

Thx

This was my boat:

Humminbird website has that stuff available. I looked up a few things for you, such as the power cable and it was $13.99. Not sure whatever else you need but they most likely have it. I get a lot of stuff off of eBay too.

Good thinking on NOT leaving that unit on the boat. Thieves suck. I always take my stuff off the boat and hide it in my underwear drawer at home of all places. Never forget where it's at that way. :p

I wrote to them on their website, I'm expecting the whole thing will cost me about $150...

Well that's got to be cheaper than a whole new outfit. Always look on the brightside... :D

Accessories are not discounted that often, and usually the online stores don't offer much of a break either. Minimum MSRP total will be over $200.

GPS Receiver: AS GR16: $100
Power cable: PC 10: $14
Tilt/swivel mount: MS M: $33
Transducer: 2-beam: XNT 9 20 T: $67 or Quad beam: XNT 9 GB 90 T: $85

Note: The newer GR-50 GPS receiver, while better performing, is not recommended for your unit. It draws more power than the 757 unit can supply. I have heard of ways to power from switch, if interested.

wow thanks, this really helps..

As per the GPS module, I wouldn't know the difference as least year I had not purchased any maps, was using the built in map that was totally inacurate, yet the lake I boat in is not that big and I learned it quite a bit with time.

What would be the difference?

Thx

The 50 channel is more accurate and acquires position lock quicker. To do the mod, will require cutting into the gps cable and wiring. If you are not comfortable with that, should pass on the 50.

The GR-16 can be found discounted, or was. I saw some in Cabelas Bargin Cave a few months ago. Some time searching might get that down to the $50-$60 range.

Looks like I'm only gonna buy the following;

GPS Receiver: AS GR16: $100
Power cable: PC 10: $14
Tilt/swivel mount: MS M: $33

Only Amazon had all 3 items for a good price, but does not ship to Canada, do you know anywhere that sells all above so I don't have to buy from different places?

Thx again,
Samy

It was stored at one of my customer's warehouse, they have a garage with no front door which is hidden in back of the warehouse where no one goes. I had covered the front with blue nylon material screwed in place.

Must've been during the holidays, came back January 21st for a service call at my customer's, checked to make sure the boat was holding up ok with the snow and it was gone, after I had the trailer redone, got a snap mooring cover made, GPS installed, etc..

Was a **** off, but I'm over it now, got another boat from iboats that I'm trying to prep for summer :)
