Re: Great Tool finally bought one.
They're the cats meow,
working on chainsaw engines yrs ago a mechanic showed me how to remove crankcase bolts that have philips screw heads!
USe a dremel carbide disk to cut a straight slot then insert the impact driver.
Can't believe they used bolts with philip heads for crankcase halves.
And they're loctited in there.
Probably so they could install the bolts with a screwgun.
It comes in handy for the manual release screw too.
Talking tools, I was changing my outter tie rod end (failed inspection) on the E350 , nothing would touch the pinch bolt, my neighbort is a mechanic and came out with his 18v impact driver, zipped it out in a jif and the lugnuts too.
Gotta get one of those.
Then the tie rod end wouldn't unscrew out of the sleeve even with a breaker bar, so he drags out the oxy acetelyne , gets it smoking hot and it came right off.
