Grrrrrrrrrrrr! Login issue!

Any suggestions here? I've spent all afternoon trying to log on to this infernal new, better:| website. My old password and username did not work. (BTW, I am going blind typing this. Whose idea was this change anyway?) So I followed the directions to get identified and they came up with my login name and a new password. Nothing worked. Case sensitive or not. I was finally able to use a supplied link in the email to get me here but I cannot duplicate at the login box.

Read the we are back post where spinner is telling ron about nicknames, You have your rank just no boomyall. as far as the text if your on windows go to VIEW>TEXTSIZE>LARGER

Did it work for you Mr. Rice??

I think nicknames only show on the individuals screen that changed them.

Yours shows lw rice on my screen.

It only works on the post on my end, on the dockside page it still shows lw rice. to get it back like it was I would have to change my user name from lw rice to heycods. and when you done that on the old board you would start over as a cadet, I put too much time in to do that.

So, how did Bob_VT, BoatBouy, Rubberfrog, etc. keep their screennames. I contacted the mods and their suggestion was to go to the User Area. I couldn't find a thing there.:/

When I originally signed in it was as lw rice username My display name was heycods. I dont find that option here.

Technoluck go back to your User Area and select "Change Name" and try that.

Then hit refresh and see if that works.

When I signed in with my username I used my old password and it worked. No issues with signing in.

I doubt I will ever change the name since I have used this one on all forums and here since May 2001

Note that your change will have to be approved by the admin before it takes effect. All your existing posts will be updated to show the new username.


Unfotrunately, I do not have Admin privledges so it might take some time. They are real busy.

You have to go there and change you username for it to show up on the screen. All post will reflect the new name and no counts will be lost.

Don't like the idea of people's log in names showing up on the board nowadays.

Well, I wish I COULD see the forum list! if I click on dockside chat it loads up a blank screen. In order to reply to this post it has to be the most recent thread so I can access it from the forums home!

I also miss being dock boy... Why did they switch?

Hmmm . . . well I did a name change last night late. Said admin would review. Doesn't seem to have taken . . . ie.. QC Today I hit the name change button again and it says something like "Admin approved/denied this request already" ???

Found another possible name change place. On the "Console" (User area) there is a button for Edit Profile. In there you can change the displayed name . . . Bummer is it already says QC . . . ???
