No insult intended to those who love AARP.

It's a racket. The same discounts are available elsewhere. They sold us out politically some time back. And it will be a cold day in **** when they ever get a penny from me.

Angus you may not think the discounts apply to you, but that's because you're still living like a younger man. Once you sign up the age will catch up to you and those discounts will all magically apply to you in your senior years........................LOL

I have no idea, never thought about joining it but I'm not quite there yet. I generally don't do any of the "join our club and you can save..." discounts.

like a wise man said, there's no such thing as a free lunch. if they weren't making money on it, they wouldn't do it.

We have a similar program up here (CARP) that doesn't offer any more benifits that I already receive by having a CAA membership and being a veteran.

There is also a new organization for us old folks, it is "The Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC)" or amac.us. They view things closer to my line of thinking, You might want to check them out also. Just a thought.

For those who want an alternative due to politics look into Generation America.

After researching the AARP, I have decided to pass. There were many factors to consider and most did not align with my lifestyle and philosophy. Hope they still let me into Bingo tonight.

Atta Boy, Angus! Prolong old age as long as you can! I am glad I am STILL 29 after all these years (although there are now days I feel like I am 9550 years old!).:D:facepalm:

I have a family member that has it and most of the discounts are attainable without it. You pay them to receive crap mail and phone calls is how it seems to work.

I am sorry I said the "P" word, but only in a general sense. Let's not go into specifics, or this will get closed quicker than you can grab your walker!
