I've got the deck layed down, back section is in and mounted. I used waterproof construction adhesive, PL brand. Rather than screws. The spot over gas tank is great, nice and strong! I used 19/32 plywood. I doubled the layers over the tank where it tucked under the rear deck, then screwed it together at that part. Sealed with 5200, and will be glassed on top also.

Now the front section was a pain in the butt. Lol
I made cardboard templates for the whole floor, which helped a lot.
There is some gaps ill need to fill still. I'm planning on trying that Bondo hair filler.
Which is poly resin with long strand glass in it. Just as a filler. Then glass cloth and resin over top.

I still have to fill the side gaps where the deck meets the angled hull for about 8 inches, and tab in the deck to the hull sides.
Also have to glass the whole thing still.

What do y'all think of this? Sufficient repair? I'm looking for it to last a while until I'm bored enough to totally restore the whole boat. 5 yrs hopefully.
The boat is still in great shape, inside and out.

Oops, I already mounted front piece in now too and forgot I wanted to make a backing plate for pedestal mounts.
What am I gna do now! Lol
I'm thinking of building a box made from 2x6" or 2x8" wood, then adding ply to the top and screwing seat to it. No pedestal needed.

Or I could make a backing plate on TOP of the deck and screw a pedestal down through the deck and plate. Using lag bolts is what I was thinking.

What would you guys do?

Remember also there is no stringers near the edge of hull, would the leverage from pedestal be too much on the floor where it's tabbed to side of hull? Which is really just the storage lockers on side...
I don't want it to rip my whole deck up lol

If the edge of the deck is properly bedded in PB and tabbed sufficiently to the hull, it should be OK. It's hard to tell, though, without seeing pictures of what you're doing.

Ok. I'll take some pics today. I still have to glass everything and tab it in.
I suppose I could unscrew the few screw I used and lift deck back up to ad mounting plate under. Hopefully the PL didn't harden yet

The deck is stuck already lol
Do you guys think I could double the ply on TOP and screw the pedestal through both with lag bolts

Floor is all filled in, tabbed to hull etc. I used both Bondo glass, and bondo hair.
One has short hair one has long hair. The short stuff is A LOT better to work with.

I glassed in half the floor with fiberglass cloth, but they're calling for rain so I had to quit for today. I'll finish glassing tomorrow.

For tonight I'm gonna build the two rear seat that were missing when I bought it. The ones on either side of the doghouse.

When I'm done do I sand the "goopy" spots that I've made from long hairs and drips etc? I'm wanting to paint the deck when I'm done so it has to be pretty smooth for the women's feet lol

I'd build platforms and use SS T-Nuts and then glass em to the deck.

This is how I did my seats, too, and they really have help up very well. They are quite solid and there are no holes that penetrate the deck, which I like... the holes only penetrate the wood base (pyramid shaped) which is glassed to the deck. I'd do this again, if I were rebuilding a boat.

Well...I kindve already finished the glass work, and coated the deck with non skid epoxy paint.
I made plywood bases and coated them with glass and the paint I used on deck.
Can I attatch these to the deck with 5200 or PL adhesive?
That's what I had planned, and I could seal the area between deck and ply base with 5200 so no water gets trapped between.

I'll have to screw the ply to the deck and seal it with 5200 then huh? What's my best option here?

This is my first time doing this much deck work, as you can probably tell lol
I appreciate everyone's help along the way though!

I used lag bolts on my wood base, and on the pedestal. So there's 8 bolts holding it down. Sealed all holes with 5200, and the edge of the base. It is rock solid. Took it out last night for a shark fishing. Did great and caught about 20 shark!
