Home sales rise.....LMAO... what, the foreclosures?
Numbers can be made to look like anything they want.
I have even seen where they count saved foreclosures as a home sale.
Also, new home sales might go up in a given development but they are selling 50-100,000 less than their neighbor bought a year ago.
Positive thinking is great but don't believe the hype...

OMR is truly a optimist, and indeed needed for balance. Here we have a market correction occuring, pricing adjusting to true market conditon's........called deflation sad but true. SImply put big oil is getting a very big slice of the disposable income wouldn't you say...

I am a bit pessimistic about overpriced housing in our Great Country that China has kindly financed fer us.

I don't think it will bring the system down, (but I only have one brain cell), n' I've been wrong before.

Capitalism works real well, but it is brutal. Over doin' it always leads to declines n' hangovers. Nany Gubmint bailouts make those problems much much worse, (always have), see the Depression where FDR made it into a GREAT one fer starters.

Please study the history of capitalism, it is actually a very efficient way to allocate scarce economic resources. Communism n' Socialism leads to Gulags n' eventual failure, (unless ya cornsider Cuber n' North Korea successfull!!)

I know Housin' n' the Auto industry are in very bad shape. It will likely be years before it gets healthy again, (if it does before demographics force some very big days of reckonin' ahead!!) Again I hope I'm wrong here.

I know Housin' n' the Auto industry are in very bad shape. It will likely be years before it gets healthy again, (if it does before demographics force some very big days of reckonin' ahead!!) Again I hope I'm wrong here.


Naw just roll gas back to 2.00 a gallon maybe a 10 billion profit for big oil yearly and in 6 month's the whole thing is gone........that's how long it took to flatten it when they raised the gas to 3.00 a gallon, it has just taken this long for the sledgehammer to felt and cant be hid anymore....

But then again had not big oil hyper inflated the econ, the fed might not have had to up the rate's to control inflation......

I have had my ear to the ground for quite awhile and this financial crisis has been coming for a long time. It started to hit pretty hard first of this year. The media didn't catch on till now, hence all the "talk"...
Real Estate and lending institutions were giving everyone the thumbs up knowing it was going downhill.

You bring up a very good point, and the answer is absolutely no. However a very hard investigation should take place to look for improper lending violation's, vigours persecution if any thing is found and absolutely no bail out's. Let the ax fall where it may and accountability lye in the lap's of the mover and shaker's, that is the only cure for this kind of thing..

To those who played by the rule's, they have made there money in a legal fashion under the full scrutinity of the law.
