Re: How close do you live to your waterway?

The Texas residence is 8 miles from the ramp. We did pick up another Texas property that's less than 1/4 mile to the water. The Missouri place is about 150 feet from our dock on Lake of The Ozarks.

The first pic is from the dock looking back at the Missouri place. (Our Starcraft is actually behind the Black Thunder:D )
The second picture is looking across the HOA park towards the cove.

Man - I thought I was doing pretty good, but you guys all have me trumped!

It takes me about 30 minutes to be on the water from the time we leave the driveway. It's not a killer (we can still go out for a 2 hour run in the evening if we want), but it's more effort than walking across the backyard.

25 Miles- Wish it were closer. I wish there were a inland lake close by - I boat in lake Huron and the waves can get pretty serious once & a while.

About 4ft from the front door across the deck before I fall in the lake. Houseboat FTW.

My winter rental place is about 10 minutes away.

Two lakes are 10 min., next closet is 15, then 20, then 30, then 40. Several more within an hours drive. :)

200 yards to the pond. 500 yards to the creek. 60-400 miles to where I go fishing.

I live about 35min from getting my trailer wet.But that would be lake mead, and it sucks when you cast into a cove and you can see into the water colum nearly 30ft without a fish insight. The rocks start to look like fish after awhile. LOL and for all you with the pictures on the water front, does it ever get to the point where you think about moving?

some of you guys are making my jealous.

I'm 3 blocks by 3 blocks from my neighborhood ramp. after I get married next year I'm gonna look into getting a boat slip. unless I win the lottery or something crazy like that, I'll never be able to afford to live directly on the water in my area lol.

about 40 feet to the dock, 1/4 mile to the caloosahatchee river, another 1/2 mile to the Gulf at the Sanibel Island causeway next to ft.myers beach. sad to say, the boat is still in the yard.

I'm not sure I understand the question, but...
We would consider moving if we could find a good deal on a bigger place with deeper/year around water.
Our place on the lake isn't big enough to move into full time and our dock is sitting on the bottom right now.
We would also probably need some gainful local employment to move full time to the lake.

Sure! I now live on a boat at the dock. I move the boat often. As a matter of fact, I think I will move this evening.

1/4 mi to the neighborhood ramp on small lake, constant level which is huge in this area.

2 mi to the big lake which is more like a river now. all public ramps are high and dry.

Lake Stillhouse is the Texas lake eight miles away. I was there visiting the marina yesterday. I think they are still around 16' low. Close, constant level water is a huge deal in Texas.
