This question applies to those who haul the boat to the launch ramp and back every time they want to boat.
Also, how often do you go boating?

I am about 20 miles away from the lake and keep boat in the garage. What about you?

P.S. Those who travel 30 feet from their patio to the lake with beer in the hand do not count. Do not rub it in:D!

I am about 20 miles to nearest lake and about 30 miles to nearest ocean launch. Takes about the same amount of driving time cuz to the ocean is mostly freeway and to the lake is mostly mountain roads.

I am 5 miles to the launch ramp on the lake otherwise I have 1 hour to get to the ohio river. The boat stays right here in the driveway.

30 minutes to the closest lake but 1:15 to where we slip our boat. Last week it was 6? hours one way to Lake Powell, it was well worth it.

1 hour drive to the wet slip at Salt Fork State Park. 2 hours to Lake Erie. 15 minutes to Portage Lakes state park which is just a big no wake zone.

I am about an hour if I go boating @ Brookville Lake, Ind., about 30 minutes if I go to Caesars Creek or the Ohio River, about 45 minutes to Eastfork Lake, and about 1 1/2 to Rockfork Lake. Those are the places I go most often, but also love to go to other lakes. I have been going out about twice a week even though the weather hasn't been the greatest here in Ohio.

I am a stones throw from the local non-motorized fishing lake, 5 minutes from the salt and 10 min. from Lake Washington. I boat whenever I am not working or camping. Can't tow the boat and rv.

If you don't count the time I spend putting gas in the boat, it's twelve minutes from driveway to ramp.

But I can't go straight there, because I have to put gas in the boat first. So more like 30 minutes, including the time spent at the gas station. The boat lives in my yard, off the driveway.

Oh, and I have owned the boat four weeks, and have taken her out three times. I would go every weekend if I could, but I won't go in super high winds or thunderstorms.

8 miles to lake at girlfriends house. I use that lake to test the boat in. I dont like that lake because everyone is a prick and point and laugh when I'm paddling back to the launch.

100 miles to the lake with my cabin. Nicest people you'll ever meet. Try to go there every weekend during the summer.

'bout 30min to three ramps on the same lake, still don't get out often enough.

Re: How long do you travel to reach water?

Since I don't want to put a new coating of bottom paint on every year, my boat stays on the trailer. It takes me about 2 minutes to go from my driveway to the neighborhood launch on the Elk River. :D If I haul it to Slaughter beach south of Dover, call it an hour. If I haul it to Cape May to fish the ocean, call it two and a half hours.

Re: How long do you travel to reach water?

Two miles to the fishing ramp / jetski ramp and 3 miles to the cruising ramp.

The cruising boat and trailer is permanently attached to the dedicated towcar and stored in a tandem garage.

The fishing boat is in a second garage off a second driveway and I have to back up my every-day car to pick her up.

Both boats go out on average 1 day a week in season. The whole family goes on Saturday or Sunday, and I usually skip off by myself to go fishing one day during the week.

On really hot summer nights we take the jetski out after dinner at least once during the week.

The vacation cottage ramp is a 4 1/2 hour drive and we caravan with 4 cars once a year with the jetski, fishing boat and our 2 son's boats as well.

Great Grandma (our 1952 Classic Lyman) goes to the cruising ramp once a year, and only if its sunny and windless....LOL, plus once a year to the ACBS boat show.

We're not people with a boat, we are "Boaters".

Bout 10 minutes to my favorite boat ramp at Lake Guntersville and 25 minutes to Neely Henry Lake... Usually out a few weekends during the spring and just about every weekend during the summer up until the 1st of September when college football season starts when we are always at Bryant Denny or wherever Alabama is playing...

Re: How long do you travel to reach water?

You can throw a stone anywhere in Minnesota and hit a lake, but my cabin is 4 hours north, so about 500 miles round trip. We go once or twice per month during the open water season towing the boat each way.

In the winter, we tow the snowmobile up there to get across the lake to our place.
