Re: How much do you pay for your wet slip?

town slip with water and electric from march 15th to november 15th. also some security from memorial day to at least labor day, sometimes columbus day. around $53 a foot. my 23 footer would have run about $1200 but its 50% off for handicapped and senior folk. my wife has some back problems and has a handicapped parking permit so we only had to pay $600. that price is unheard of on long islands south shore. my buddy pays $1400 for a slip behind a private house with no electric. if i were a rich man, there's a sweet private gated marina for like $100 a foot but has private beach, bbq pits, gazebos, bathrooms, and a new built in salt water pool. no wrenching on your own boat though. not for me. heres what i have. it was sort of at the mouth of the canal and a bit more exposed to chop and wind than boats further up, but i was able to move 9 slips up this year. that 90 feet makes all the difference. im set for life.

looking into it for candlewood lake in CT and they charge 2000 per season april 1 to october 1

my girlfriend doesnt book her slip till early spring, when some of the early birds cancel...

they lose their deposit and the price she pays is minus the deposit...last year she got a slip for $1300 fpr the season...this year it was $1500

but normally it is $1,800-2,000...even with a poor ramp, no electric..no water..

Those are really inexpensive places to get! I wish we had the same around here. Ors is based on a yearly contract and can run from 6.25 to 8.50 per foot per month.

I have a 37' Carver. I'm under a 20' tall enclosure, but I have been here a while so my price isn't maxed out (37 x 7.50 = 277.50). Then add another $50-$60 for electric.

I guess that's the price to pay for living in Fl.

No reason to ruin a good thread with side-scrolling...

I wish slips were that cheap around here.

Junky slips in georgian bay are around $1600 with little/no amenities.

A nice slip for a 20 footer can be close to $3000/yr and our boating season is really only 5 months.

We are paying 1200.00 per season for a 20' foot slip on the Mississippi in Western WI. There are cheaper slips available (800 ish) but the marina we chose is the most convenient, has the nicest facilities, and most amenities.

Northeastern Ohio, State Park slip 24 footer with no amenities $600 for the season. I didn't think that was too bad.

Took me awhile to get used to driving away. Always wondered if she was alright while I was gone. Had a pretty fair bellows leak towards the end of the season last year. I could see from the scum line that my bilge was doing it's job. But with no electric ,1 battery, and an hour away from home I was never comfortable.

At the Prince Rupert Government dock we pay $110 per month for a 24 footer, power is an extra $20, water is free. BUT,this is not a reserved slip, it is first come first get, with rafting up to 3 wide, the place can be quite a zoo in the summer:eek:

Re: How much do you pay for your wet slip?

We rent from some friends of ours. Includes water and electric. Unrestricted access. $60 / foot last season. Haven't spoken with him yet about this year, but I figure no more than $65. He held the line for a couple seasons, so we're due for an increase.

Marina charges around here are twice that amount or more. But, you also have access to a mechanic, marina services and haul-out when you need it. You can do it with a phone call. Good marinas will take care of little stuff gratis.

For me, hauling the boat is a big logistical rigamarole. I need two people. a couple of vehicles and half a day. And THAT's if the boat's running. Not sure what I'd do if it was broken down (knock wood).

If I had the extra bucks I'd probably use a full service marina.

$171/mo at the Everett marina, 24hr security, fuel dock, stores, I think this is the biggest marina in washington- they always have lots of available slips in the 20-24 range and its month to month. There is some cheaper places around but they look kind of shady

wow, some of those slips are cheap! I pay $285/month plus electric for a 40' covered slip (wet or slinged), and a locker. You have an initial investment of the slings (if you can sling it), just have to upkeep them. But im right at the gulf (saves gas) for the 30 to 60 mile track offshore ;)

Re: How much do you pay for your wet slip?

Some of you guys are getting raging deals. In Pittsburgh, which isn't even prime boating, slips range from $40-$100 per foot, per season. Sometimes electric is included. SOmetimes its an extra $200-$300 a season. Plus usually another $100 or so for trailer storage. So, on average, like $1200-$1800 a season. Which is 6 months. Tops.

It sounds like you should all be happy, around the western side of Narragansette Bay (R.I.) and the R.I./CT boarder at the estern end of L.I. sound the lowest cost I could find a year and a half ago was $95.00/foot and from there it went up to $135.00/foot!
