Well it's deff a 66 but someone has repainted it. 66 was the only year with that cabin side window setup but it also only came in avacado green hull and top....

So it's gonna be 1/2" plywood decking and white EPS flotation stock. The side panels should also be 1/2" plywood.

This boat is put together much like mine except I don't have the cuddy. Make sure you save the decking for templates and also the metal seam straps under the decking. You'll need those later.

This will be another good one.

Looks like you owe dad a frosty adult beverage of his choice, maybe quite a few more then 1........ He does a pretty great job of demo!

If he's equally handy on put back, you might consider subbing him out for other work progress challenged Starmadians over the winter

I need some advice on a couple of things one I have one very small leak from one of my rivets in front of the boat I'm going to try to buck the rivet. Then 5200 it. Two my floor in my boat was floating it was not screwed in at point .nice for removal but I need to know whtat size and length needs to go back. Three should I glovit the seams I'm having mixed feeling on it and foam for floation where do u get it

Looks like you and your Pops are making nice progress. I really enjoy working on mine. I actually thought doing the floor was fun.

Buck the rivet, then after getting the hull cleaned up, fill it to about the chines with water, to confirm you've got the leaks fixed, drain & dry, then gluvit the rivets & the seams. Coat-It is an alternative.

I am not to the rivet point yet, so I can't be much help with that, but you'll base the size & grip range on the thickness of ply you use for the deck.

'Most' fiberglass or epoxy suppliers will carry the 2 part pour in foam. You can use a few different products to seal the wood work (deck & side panels etc..) if you use epoxy, get the foam at the same time if possible. I will be getting my fiberglass & epoxy from either US Composites or Composite One. Depending on where you are in Maryland, you might get lucky & find a local supplier for the epoxy. In 55gal bulk, some shops will sell you some of their resins, at a profit for them, but for less then you could buy it. But Composites One will probably be close to you, as they are to me. And except for the 'becoming a customer' paperwork & registration hassles, they are a bit cheaper for me then US Comps, but US Comps pretty much beats the rest of the suppliers I checked, shipping to me in WV.

It's just another product some have used. Some like 1, dislike the other.... Chevy~Ford

Mostly it's the $, Gluvit is higher. Use the Advanced search feature from the SC owner's group homepage. It should find some threads that used each 1. I have not yet used either. I have agreed to sell my Jet, unfinished, to my boss. And until I get that motor started, and sell it to him, I'm not getting the next project brought home from storage, in the driveway & underway.... But based on the # of favorable comments across several threads, I'll be using Gluvit. Because unless I continue to hoard tinny's, I won't need the gallon kit & the Quart will do my hull for what I deem a reasonable price.;)

Google Gluvit vs Coat-it, it may find other comments on other forums. At this point it's all research. Amass all the info you can & sift thru it to see what will & won't fit w/ your budget, needs, ability & etc

Sounds good. No telling what the previous owner(s) may have done to fix a leak in the past, but Silicone is a no-no. I would try to remove it as best you can before you apply the Gluv-it. Keep us posted.

Before you empty the boat try to clean the junk out from under the ribs. I used a piece of tubing attached to a air hose snake the tube under the ribs from one side or the other and give it good blast of air you will be amazed at the junk that will come out. I took me a wile (10 or 12 times) before nothing but air cam out of each rib. Good luck and you are doing a great job.IMG00056-20120526-1436.jpg
