Yah buddy, with these light boats we have I think we have plenty of HP. I'm not a "go fast" guy so I am sure whatever the V6 gives me will be entirely fine:)

You upgraded to a V6...You have a 50 on a lil 15 footer that weighs nothing..

umm hmmmmm...

I guess as they say..

"You can go slow in a fast boat, but will never go fast in a slow boat"

Yah Kev, I give ya that.

Well, I may not be a "go fast" guy but rather a "get there" guy, eh:)

OK, now where is that PR fella with the Islander. He seems to emerge from his winter slumber about this time of the year.

Anybody got any bait we can toss out?

Right here buddy.

Been an interesting winter. Almost no snow or cold - hell, the lakes barely froze.

Then in December I joined a band - I'm playing bass in a cheesy cover band. I'm about to leave for our big St. Paddy's day gig tonight at a bowling alley. If I ever capture a decent recording, I'll post somethin' up here for ya.

Then about a month ago I got laid off. Anyone in the Twin Cities need a good LAN/WAN guy? I only have one more month of severance.

Good thing I have a cabin on the boat, I may be living in it by June.

Hey PR should be able to hit the lakes this weekend with the heat. This is March still?!

Sorry to hear about your job, PR. Sucks big time. Don't drink any green beer at the bowling alley gig.

That's what the calendar says, but I'm not so sure. Is Minnetonka ice out yet?

Yeah the job thing sucks. I hate job hunting more than (almost) anything. But fear not, adversity hasn't stopped me yet and it never will. I've got a zillion good contacts on LinkedIn and I already have a nice suit for interviews.

And I'm right there with ya on the green beer GA - I call St Paddy's day "amateur night". Last night was the first time I was out for it in almost a decade. I just assume every other car on the road is being operated by someone who's loaded. Had my only beer of the night at about 2:30 am when I got home. I was almost hoping I'd get pulled over so I could say "No Sir, not a drop...."

Thanks T, but no time for a job - I just realized how many pages behind I am on Jason's Islander thread. Much reading to do!

Okay I just visited Jason's thread, figured I could add an update here too.

I GOT A JOB! First paycheck is this Friday, so I'll be able to start digging out of my financial hole here soon. I just put my 14-footer up for sale on CL and I have the okay from the misses to sink the proceeds from that sale into the Islander, so maybe I can at least get a couple fuel tanks into her and start building the seat boxes before the New Year.

So if anyone's still watching this, cross yer fingers for a quick sale this weekend.

Heh - at the rate we're going, I'd say 2016? Meet you in Green Bay? My in-laws have Packer tickets....

Thanks y'all!

PAPAROOF! Your back MAN! AWESOME DIGGITY!

WE are trying to plan for TC Starmada II over at the same Greys Bay on Lk Minnetonka. It would be September 15th or 16th (looking like sunday the 16th). Fishing in the am (8am - 11) lunch & Pics and then recreational boating (tubing, swimming, etc OR fishing continued) in the afternoon. WE NEED THE GRAND PUBA OF THE GREATER TWIN CITIES MN AREA TO SHOW! (loud enough?:p)

Glad to hear about the job! Excellent, excellent news sir! Now just save a tad bit of that first paycheck for car gas to get the beast over to Minnetonka!

Chuck
