Slice the rudder? scoutabout just said you did the right thing with the design of the rudder why would you slice it up?

I just mean that I will taper the leading and trailing edges so the blunt edges of the plywood wouldn't cause drag, I'll post a picture of it when I get it done, hopefully before the weekend.:)

Oh!, I see :)

A final note about those split ring hangers, I've used them on the job for yrs, they're great for vert. or horz. mounting of pipe, and you can make them any length with a piece of 3/8" threaded rod between them, & the base plate, they are good, & rigid also. They can definitely be found in any size, inexpensively at a local plumbing supply, they're probably as common there as gumdrops.

Well is there a Vid of it on the water yet??? I cant wait til you post a vid of it running!! I do hope you plan on sharing a video somehow of it in use once you get it to the lake! You might want to get it to the lake soon before the lake is gone! If you wait too long the lake will go away and when you try to go to the lake you dont go anywhere cause the lake is gone!

Re: Inboard outboard air cooled engine

it took me too long to get to the lake and i can tell that it took to long because when i got there it was gone. So i never really got there cause when i did "get there" there was no lake! So it was tough cause i never really got there cause it was gone! Goes to show you what can happen if you dont get there quick enough! What can end up happening is that when you get there you never get anywhere cause the lake is gone! So moral of the story is: if the lake is gone then you dont really go anywhere cause when you get there you never really get there cause its gone!

Still got some work to do. Can we run video here?

I live close to the sound so there's no shortage of water, but it does get rough and cold, my 20 footer would have been a rough ride today. Haven't finished it yet either, the "SHAKER" will fit in the garage the big boat won't. Too cold outside for me!

Got the cover plate made tonight for the exhaust. Still have some finish work to do on it. Will try it this way if it gets too hot I'll figure out something else.

The engine isn't mounted yet, still have to fill the lower unit with oil and replace the crankshaft seal and base gasket.:)

LOL! I Swear to God, it looks factory made? So, well done,,, Alrighty then, when does the production line start? I want one! :D

By the way, dying to know how, or what your using to swing the rudder? Whatever it is, it looks amazing. Wait, I see eyebolts with a piece of threaded rod between them, It looks neat, tidy, & very useable to me

Thank you kindly!

Sat in the boat today for the first time! Everything works great, tiller is smooth, shift works good, throttle and key easy to reach, was able to keep one hand on the tiller at all times while going through the different task that I will need to be able to perform while docking etc. Pretty happy with the way it all has turned out so far.:)

Still some things to do like the battery, still haven't made it to the wiring yet, still have to change the crankshaft seal. Waiting on the resin and paints to dry right now.:(
