Re: Its here! My 2012 Stingray 195CX

Had some time to work on the boat while I've been on pre-deployment leave. Some things I got done:

Magma filet table and flush mount lever-lock bracket. One thing that bothered me when using my swim platform mounted grill this past year was while I was cooking I had nowhere to put food and utensils except on the sunpad. This will eliminate that.

Hella LED accent lighting on the swim platform:

(the blue-lit ring is the oznium flush stainless switch for the lights.)

Tackle box in rear bench bulkhead. This is a Wellcraft part, got it from great lakes skipper, I liked it because of size and also the stainless latch matches those already on the boat.

As always, sorry for the bad pictures. The lighting in the garage along with my bad cell phone camera makes for a lousy image.
Thats it for now I suppose.. running out of time as I will be leaving for Afghanistan in a matter of days.

Looking good! Come back safe and sound to enjoy your new toy. My son has about a month to go at infantry training school, and I have a feeling he'll be heading to Afghanistan, too.

Everything looks great, does the grill go higher when using it? If not what position do you grill in? Just curious.

The grill does not raise or lower, I just swing it out over the water and sit on the sunpad and grill in comfort ;)

Beautiful boat and beautiful wife! Congrats sir! I really like the SeaDek pad. Now that you've had time to spend on it, how do you like it? Have you had to clean it, does it retain it's shape (indents from standing, placing things on it, etc)? My swim deck is super slippery and I really like that design.

Awesome looking boat and accessories. That's how she should have come from the factory!

Well done.

Just make sure those SeaBlaze gunwale lights on the swimplatform are not on while underway, illegal in many states.

Boat looks nice.

SeaDek is awesome... It is very dense, and I've not encountered anything that left impressions in it; certainly standing on it does not leave footprints or anything like that. I've put loaded coolers and heavy deep cell batteries on it without any marks.

As for cleaning, it does not seem to stain at all or absorb anything. Most I've ever had to do is rinse it off.

I will have seadek'ed just about everything on my boat when my last pads come in - they're for the anti-skid on the foredeck leading to the anchor locker. I love this stuff and would put it on any boat I owned.

The seablaze underwater lights? or the hella swim platform lights?

The seablaze's are blue, and probably not legal when running. Still, I've done it in plain view of coast guard and some variant of local water patrol without any complaint from them. Overall, they're not used often, and 90% of the time they're on is at dock or anchor. If I was told to turn them off, I would without complaint.

The swim deck lights are white, and on the stern, and only shine inward on one another. It would be almost impossible for them to be mistaken as a stern light by another vessel except one directly behind me, in which case they would correctly be looking at my stern, and also the all around anchor light would be up as well. They are hardly bright enough to cause disorientation to another boat - they're not docking lights or a spotlight or anything like that.

I contacted SeaDek and unfortunately they don't carry a template for my boat (07 seaswirl 210 br). They said they can mail a template package where I basically create a template and mail it back to them, or just buy raw material and cut it myself. I really doubt I could cut that stuff and make it look even close to decent.

That is your opinion, coast guard, water patrol may not agree with you. Just leave them off while underway, and you will be fine.

I created the templates myself and sent them in for all three areas of my boat I've seadek'ed... Easy to do.

I would not recommend attempting to cut it yourself unless you have a table router so you can route the edges and make them look decent.

Hey all, back from Afghanistan and working on the boat again. Too late in the season to take her out, unfortunately (didn't want to have to re-winterize), so the next best thing is adding new parts, right? ;)

Currently in the process of finishing up my all new audio system, using only Rockford Fosgate stuff. A new thread will be in the electronics section (with pictures of course) when its done. For now you can check out the thread I posted of the amplifier rack I built today if you're interested.
