Good Morning all, ive been away for awhile due to shoveling 13' of snow over the last 2 months so ive been a little busy
. I posted this: Here last October not knowing that we would see record snow falls in years here in North West Indiana, its been so cold here lately i could hear the old Girl outside shivering and a faint "can i come inside?" whisper on the wind from the garage area, i swear it was my boat, poor thing.
I was watching some TV the other day and looked over at the wife and said "what are we doing" she looked at me with a confused look on her face" what?" she said.
"why do we stay here in the God for saken weather, each year we go through the same crap."
If you know my area, Northwest Indiana 45 minutes from down town Chicago, 5 minutes from the murder capital "Gary, IN" its not what it use to be, there are two seasons here Winter season and Construction season thats it.
its getting to the point where we are outside for 3 months a year enjoying the summer and its 110% humidity in the pool and on the boat to turtling in the house for the rest of the year and enduring the winter.
the better half is one year away from her degree at Purdue and im getting antsy to move south. I mean come on, with the economy the way it is, the wife fresh out of college, me with 15 years experience in Environmental management, this would be perfect time to pick up camp and start over in the sun shine right? we still have a good 30 years before we are to retire, if thats even a word any more but am i insane for thinking this ? shes all for it, but change is tough for me when it comes to security.
Dont get me wrong, snow is very pretty, but so is my EX wife. get my "drift" pun intended.
I mean i walk out my front door this morning and there are 3 deer in my front yard and they just look at me and i swear i heard one of them say " dude its cold out here, you got any thing to eat"
i dont know, maybe i just have cabin fever.... sure is a nice thought though, i talked to my bud the other day in Vero florida and he just laughed at me and told me he was in a tank top all day.
im up here praying for 55 to 60 degrees and hes getting a sun burn, something just aint right
to all the snow birds with me, HEAR ME ROAR!!!!
thanks for the ear, thinking of sun
