Ok, get a good and loud stereo system. Burn a CD with the following 6 songs: http://www.mentalfloss.com/blogs/archives/27123

Set the stereo to just below the amount allowed by the noise ordinance (measured at your property line, of course).
Put it on loop, and go to work.

Although tempted to follow some of the advice here, I decided to go ahead and sue them in small claims. I'll let you all know how it goes. I figure the award from small claims should pay for some privacy trees along the back fence (block the light) and the loudest, most annoying anti-bark system I can find.

Hmm... I hope that you have gotten good legal advise on how to proceed - ie: what you should document, what steps you should take prior to the lawsuit (ie: sending certified letters) etc.

I read about a fast growing tree called the "Austree." Seems cheaper than a 20' tall privacy fence.

heh, oh man, that aus tree is awesome by the way. i ordered one for 1 dollar. it was just a stick. it's died about 4 times without actually dying.
in the end, a little water revived it, and it's now proudly bearing a lot of leaves in my back yard.

very easy tree to propogate too... fyi

you're neighbor is mentally disturbed. Give that guy a wide berth and hope he gets some medical attention or jail time.

Awww man!!! The Bee Gees are too cool! The neighbor would probably be over there doin' a little disco.

Now, the Barney, macarena, etc., that's just plain mean! I like it.
you might try a little Vanilla Ice as well. A little "ice, ice, baby" for about 30 minutes would have that guy in tears, shooting out his own light.

Gotto love uptight neighbors!

I've promisied my wife if we ever move to a neighborhood like that to always mow the lawn w/o shirt or just a wifebeater, always leave the garage door open, keep an old piece of crap car parked in the street or in the driveway with the hood up, etc.

Sounds like your neighbors will gripe at about anything you do, so just have some fun with them!

i like the mirror idea.....a giant glob of peanut butter thrown over the fence will shut-up a dog for a good while.

My neighbor prefers the 80's top 40 pop rocks hits collection to blast out of his patio speakers almost 24/7, it's ok though because he's a senior officer in a large local PD so ordinances, rules, laws etc aren't applicable to him. He doesn't much care for my large wood chipper that is under his swimming pool but thus far the cronies he has sent over haven't found anything that they can officially enforce.

I feel for you. I've been to a SWAT (tactical police) party and very little of that party would be allowed at any other house, yet there are so many laws they can always get you on something if they don't like you.

Bet this light would annoy them........Fresnels from MOLE lighting...hollywood stuff....Ive got this 2000watter that will blind you from 100 yards...spots down to about a foot at that distance....HEHHEHEHEEHEHHEHE
Ive got (9) Fresnels for my photo business...and (15) 500 watt halogens, (15) 250 watters, about (60) 100 watt spots .....(3000) feet of various cords on reels, about 40 splitters etc etc etc ....let some one mess with me on a lighting battle hehehheehe MUHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHH!

oh and I bet my 2400 watt Speedotron strobe would really tick em off.....it makes a loud POP! when you fire it....I have about 10000 watts of strobe studio lighting that can even totally annoy during the day hehehe

let me at em!!! Dont mess with the Low Key guy PLEEEEEEEEEEEEASE! as he may havbe high strung pals!
