Job interview......about time! UPDATE

As some of you know i have been laid off since Jan.1 of this year.
I have applied at places until i'm sick of it with no return calls.

So i have been doing some boat work on the side to make some cash.
Well i get 2 calls Today!
One from Frito-Lay and one from Jeff Gordon Racing..

I have an interview at 10 am with the race shop in the morning!

I did not call Frito-Lay back yet but will in the morning too...
Hopefully i will have success with one of them...

Funny thing is that Gordan's shop is next door to my old job..
I could wave at my old boss every morning....lol!

No Kevin...you won't need to cheer the 24 car....lol!

I think they do run the Nationwide series out of that shop...i'll find out in the morning..
Hell, I will sweep floors to get my foot in the door.

They did tell me it is part time to start but work will increase.
They asked if i could drive the transporter truck and motor coach sometimes..
Heck yea!

I have seen the trucks they own.....Top notch rigs!
They get new ones every year.
I think they have a deal with Peterbuilt or used to.A few years ago they had Freightliner.....Either way i will drive it!

At this point i would drive a one stack Mack with a window in the back..
The first truck i drove years ago was an old cab over International..No air ride,no AC and would shake your teeth out..
Thought it was a big truck back then...

LOL, I "cut my teeth" on old Diamond T and Diamond Reo trucks when I was a teenager in the military. No syncromesh and you sure couldn't "float" the gears (shift w/o clutch) in those things! Double clutching was required!

Another truck in the lineup at one point, was an International 10 wheeler with a 5 spd/2 spd rear end combo. It had a 3208 in it with no blower, and hydraulic brakes. Man, I hated that truck! I could mail a post card cross country before hitting 7th gear in that beast!

Glad to hear that you have a shot at something new, Gary! Also glad to hear that you might be driving a top notch rig. One question though ... do dancing girls come with that "pay-ter-built?

I got to be there at 10 so i'm getting a little nervous.....

The worst they can do is say no. Good thing is they called me out of who knows how many applicants.

Well,Time to spiffy up and head that way.
The other half already left for work and forgot to iron my clothes..
Me and an iron don't do well...

I'll get her for it when she gets home...
