Okay... for the record... those were not slippers...

Bobby...Thanks for the link on the custom tanks... I'll have to check that out if the plastic one I have doesn't fit... I think I am going belly tank for sure... I am going to use the close bow area for storage...

Decker... I was originally going to use PL to bed the stringers, but I want to get some glassin work done this weekend and can't afford the 48 hour cure time... So, I will be bedding them with a PB mix, although I will prolly substitute micro balloons for cabosil to make it a little softer.

Thanks JBC... appreciate you stopping by...

I'll post some updates tomorrow night or Sunday..

Good work! I've got a 78 Chris Lancer with a 305 Chevy with a Volvo 280 drive. I've owned this thing since 1980 and it's been bulletproof until now. Got a case of soft stringers. I saw the photo of your gutted interior. That is exactly what I need to do, but not sure if I have the guts to take down that far. lt's been this way for a few years but I know in my mind that I have to either sell it or gut it. You are my inspiration now.

Congrats On finishing the transom, hope you find that extra .005" somewhere. I am glad to see people doing this type stuff it gets me excited to maybe do one of my out. Then I relize grinding is no fun, and that sets me back a bit. I will continue to read your updates. hopefully you can get it ready for the summer. Although you seem to notice it is already boating season down here in the south!

Hey PMC, if my woodworking radar is working correctly, that starboard stringer is high by 1/64th of an inch at the 4' 11 3/32" inch mark. I'd re check it if I were you!:p Other than that, it all looks Good to Go!!!!!

Wood, I know it isn't my place to point out an error in your calculations due to my limited woodworking experience, but I believe you are off by .003...

First off, I am pleased to report that I had iboats-approved footwear this weeekend:

After all, I have to protect the feet that carried me to resounding victory in the glass vs. tin racing challenge vs. Jas:p

Well I hope it's splashed by the boy's prom ... just kidding

Hydra, your back... glad to hear from you... Yes, this thread is sort of like a bad soap opera... you can quit watching for 5 years and pick back up without missing much... Not that I wear slippers (or watch those)... whatever...

Thanks wisechoie - yeah, I've seen your lancer (I think you posted a pic or two awhile back).. I love that boat. Go ahead and rip 'er apart and she'll last another 32 years.

Yeah, its officially hot already.. We went swimming and skiing yesterday and the lake was already warm... That Al Gore may be on to something...

Thanks for getting a song that I have not heard in 30 years stuck in my head all day. BTW, the muppet remake is one of the few "cover songs" that is actually better than the original... Just sayin' (now everyone else with too much spare time can always relive the anthem of 1970s childhood (or Ward's adult-hood)..

Glad to see you are still thinking about the IMP - that's a cool glasser - hope you finish her when you are done with the smurfcraft (i mean, starcraft) ;)

Yeah, that tank is scary big... I think its longer than my whole boat.

Actually, those stringers are a long story... And are far from perfect... It was quite the battle getting those placed and bedded and I finally had to go with "good enough." Hopefully, my deck won't cave in... especially since I battled for two weeks trying to sister ply together. What your eyes did not catch is that I actually threw in the towel and went with 1 X 12 (I know that violates all boat building rules, but I plan to use so much fiberglass covering them that they will basically just serve as forms...

Let the hazing begin.... Oh well.

Oh! let me go first ...
If we could all have the part of my lives back where we sat and read about the bendy plywood and how to stack it properly we could have all had the time to get law degrees too. :p

Whereas, the party in the first part, being one and the same as pmccraney, an iboats member, chief petty officer status and adult, resident citizen of Ridgeland, MS (herein also and interchangeably referred to as "smart-as*") and the party in the second part, being one and the same as rrumba, an iboats member, chief petty officer and resident of greater atlanta, georgia (also, interchangeably and alternatively referred to herein as "metal boat sell out guy") did heretofore commence to discuss angels and heavenly visions and do hereby memorialize, confirm, ratify and establish that rrumba made no sense in the heretofore mentioned electronic transmission. What's so confusing about that? Makes perfect sense to me.

Translation: I didn't understand what you were saying; I'm just messing with you; peace out - carry on, have a good day!
