Re: Man vs. Boat (season 1).
hi patrick.
vid one....
i would just heavy glass the whole transom inside......the extra board you want to add is ok...your call....but due to the transom not going all the way to the edge.....you will want to heavily glass the inner transom......at least 4-5 layers of 1708/csm sandwiches. I would apply them all at once....wet on wet.
watch your temps on cure.....when glassing over three layers of 1708/csm.....the temps of the cure can get too hot and bake the resin.
for this reason....you might want to do 2 layers.....csm and 1708.....another csm and 1708......then wait a wee bit till the cure starts to cool down.....then add the next 2 sandwiches of csm/1708.......
this will still give you a good chemical bond. plus the prolonged heat in the cure will give you the stiffness you are looking for....plus the 4 sandwiches will give you the stregnth you need in that area.
then you can grind the outer area with no worries of going thru and wrecking your bond to the curvature of the transom.
over all......it looks great patrick.....
you are really catching on to this well.....
what is next ?
Mccraney for prez?.......lol
cheers bud
