Brutha!

as I'm reading playin catch-up, I'm thinkin' oh crap~! He's gonna cut er' up! But I think crap like that also! :D If it wasn't for all you insane brethren on iboats, my Imperial would be a center console, painted all white with a black -n- grey stripe to match the Johnson....

I agree, if at all possible a second boat for fishing... I tried fishing out of my Cobalt and it was a drag........

Plus your boat is beautiful with the bow covered! So classic bro-

Re: Man vs. Boat (season 1).

Now, that's just picking on the new kid... I love my boat and have no regrets, but man was I sure clueless about what I was getting into.

You guys are awesome! You gave me the right answer and made me laugh at the same time.. Decision made! True to the original she will stay. Less work on an already tough project is also a bonus!

Crisis averted: the first responders have folded up the catch trampoline and the fire trucks are pulling away... Carry on folks, the jumper is safe and will be released from custody after psych evaluation.

But... But...... But.................. It could look like this, lol:D But then of coarse you would have to close in the stern with a layout pad for bikinis, see where I'm going with this, lol;):D

Re: Man vs. Boat (season 1).

What are saying? That doesn't look hard? They've only got like 150 years of boat building experience on me... Surely, I can pull that off and it will look just as good?

Needless to say, point well-taken... Man, that's a pretty boat... I know Chris Craft has had its difficult period (the OMC marriage, etc...)...but man I think they have a solid argument that they build one of, if not, the best (not trying to start a "favorite boat" debate, I just happen to think they put out a solid product and I am proud to own one...even if its an old beat up gutted, transomless, stringerless, disco-fiber classic sitting idle in a back-woods workshop).

If I win the lottery, I would give one of these hard look...sure is puuurdy...

P.S. glad all my mid-west, mid-south friends appeared to have escaped the storm outbreak... Unfortunately, we have to dodge a lot of those in MS too (in fact, the siren just went off, but fortunately it was a false alarm). Very orry for those that lost property or loved ones.

Not a fan of the faux wood 'panels' under the bow, but it is nice looking from the front, in your 1st shot above, just as Chris Craft built her.

Me neither... The faux wood panel is actually wood-grain vinyl covering that was, unfortunately, used very liberally in the original build... It will NOT be making its way back into the rebuild.

PMC,

First time I've interjected in your rebuilt thread; however, have been following for awhile...

Strong Work!
Brett

Thanks Brett; Glad to have you following along and chiming in. Glad to have you officially on board...

Buggy, glad to have you (and your humor) on board as well... Definitely like to have a good time on this thread... and yes, I have open and admitted boat-envy for CC254's sea-hawk... Especially, all shizzled out with the lights.

Updates below...fellas..

Okay Man vs. Boat followers... Still working hard on this transom... part of me wants to do more "infrequent" updates, so that you really see progress... However, I know that some like to follow along with each step... Also, I want it to be more realistic for those thinking about jumping into this... These things don't come together over night.

Here is more sanding on the transom:

Here is me loving life (dos eqis anyone?):

Here is the transom after yet another acetone wash and another layer of wet-on-wet CSM and 1708:

Here are a couple of brief video updates:

Baby steps, I don't think so. Regular ole boat nerd adult steps! Maybe a little wobbly from inhaling the resin.....

Good looking transom work!

Hey Man,

Isn't it cool! Glass that is! The small amount of time I've worked with it, I realize all the crazy stuff that can be done with it... The way you're dealing with the transom is how I would go about it also... I like the idea of glassin even further out on both sides, this will make the transition even smother...

Your doin' great work my brutha!

Now we just need Jas to see the light! Itchy light.... I mean Miller High Life Light!

um......Jas.....uh......

i have noticed that you tend to use a chain saw alot.......normally this would be no problem.

however.......i have also noticed that you tend to wear a hockey mask when around a chain saw......

these tendency's seem to surface around pleasure items

have you seen a doctor? :D

Now that's ^^^ FUNNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The maniacal laugh & wild look in his eye as he decimates yet another formerly glorious glass hull is particularly frightening.

Maybe we can stage an iBoats intervention. Get him on a turbo 750 SeaDoo, and show him that glass can be fun! Then capture him on film, and threaten post it to the SC forum & YouTube:facepalm: They don't make SeaDoos/JetSki's in tin right?:)
