Where can I find a reliable replacement for my Carter 0-2210 fuel pump on my 1989 4.3 litre Mercruiser?

Depends on what you consider reliable. There is always your Merc dealer for the OEM part.

I guess that would be time tested with a good history of not failing for years. I'd rather order by mail instead of traveling to a Merc dealer because there's not any around where I live.

Well, your OEM pump has lasted for 20+ years, is that good enough?

You are sure the pump is bad, and you aren't having a problem with your supply to the pump.

That sure is, now how do I get one like that in my mailbox? I'm having a hard time finding one.

Actually the pump is still working good I just have smelly fumes coming from it because it's seeping fuel a very tiny little bit. I'm just worried about explosions.

I am new to this forum. I have been reading for a couple of weeks. I just joined today. I bought a 1988 sea ray MC 21' with a 4.3l v6. to begin with there was 4 gallons of water in the tank. I removed the tank cleaned it out entirely. Removed the carburetor (rochester 4bbl) and put a carb kit in. Float set at 9/32. New plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor. Previous owner replaced the coil. Timing is set at 8 degrees BTDC at idle. The problem that i keep having is the engine keeps loading up with gas. The carb is just pumping gas into the intake manifold. Everything that i have read says that i can not adjust a rochester carb PLEASE HELP

You need to start a new thread of your own seada, this thread belongs to Merc4ever and his question.
